INTERVIEW: Open Borders and Election Integrity Are the Same Fight

Democrats push open borders and loose voting rules for the same reason: to gain power at all costs

Mass immigration and insecure elections serve the same purpose for the Democratic Party. Both dilute the power of American citizens, both expand the electorate in ways that favor the Left, and both rest on the same refusal to let the American people govern themselves.

For decades, Democrats have shifted their voting base from the working class to leftist elites, undermining their ability to hold mass appeal. To keep their heads above water electorally, they are increasingly relying on weak election laws and boosting their numbers with immigrants.

In an interview with Restoration News, elections expert Seth Keshel called it an effort to transform America and cement power with the Democrats.

The Dual Strategy to Dilute Americans' Votes

The same Democratic forces that resist secure borders, interior immigration enforcement, and expedited removal of illegal aliens also fight voter-ID requirements, proof-of-citizenship rules, and clean voter rolls. Their motivations don't originate in compassion or abstract principle. They come out of sheer arithmetic.

More people entering the country illegally and more unverified voters on the rolls produce more representation for the party that refuses to secure borders or elections.

Under former President Joe Biden's administration, millions of migrants crossed the border and settled deep inside the country by taking advantage of America's asylum laws. When the American people started paying attention, he tightened the border slightly but maintained the flow rate by providing expedited pathways for some countries via parole and expanding temporary protected status for others. The goal, however, remained the same—bring in as many foreigners as possible as quickly as possible.

In an interview with Restoration News, Seth Keshel, a former U.S. Army intelligence officer and leading elections expert said, "Part of the Democrats' strategy is to transform the country racially and ethnically and to keep poverty levels high among immigrant groups.".

Keshel believes that President Donald Trump has reversed course "in the capacity he has to act on it."

"The border is great right now, but no one knows how many illegals are already in this county," he said. "The official estimate has been stuck at 11 million for 25 years."

Meanwhile, Democrats and their allies in the courts have blocked efforts to clean voter rolls, limit mail-in ballots without verification, and require documentary proof of citizenship.

Keshel said that states with automatic voter registration are especially ripe for immigrant manipulation, adding that in New Jersey, for instance, Democrats were recently forced to admit they had 6,600 noncitizens on their rolls.

Noncitizens have also appeared on voter rolls in other Democratic-run states, including California, Pennsylvania, and Nevada.

This is not as difficult as many people believe. Millions of alleged asylum seekers and illegal aliens inhabit states with Democratic legislative control. Most of these states have weak election laws, making it easy for noncitizens to somehow end up registered. Massive mail-in voting and ballot harvesting then leave little room for verification that late-arriving ballots all come from eligible voters.

Self-Government Requires Both Secure Borders and Secure Elections

American citizens have the exclusive right to decide, via their elected officials, who may enter the country and under what conditions. However, this presumes that they alone get to decide who gets elected to Congress and the White House. To protect this right, Congress has an obligation to ensure only eligible citizens get to cast a ballot.

The pending Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act would ensure only citizens register, only eligible citizens vote, and only those with a need to vote by mail do so. The U.S. Senate should immediately send this legislation to Trump's desk.

Passing this bill is especially crucial to protect Americans' votes if Democrats manage to win the White House in 2028.

"You'd think Democrats would learn from their mistakes after their 2024 losses," Keshel said, referring to the open border policies under Biden. "But the emerging faction, the Democratic Socialists of America, is against all law and order and believes no 'human is illegal.'"

He noted that Florida represents the only real way for states to protect themselves electorally from a future Democratic administration that throws open the border. "There, Republicans built a strong political machine and attracted likeminded voters from around the country."

Many Republican-led states like Florida have fortified themselves electorally against the damage of mass immigration by passing aspects of the SAVE America Act. But without federal legislation, voters nationwide have little hope of securing their votes if Democrats regain control of the White House and revert to Biden's border policies.

Mass immigration and weak electoral laws offer Democrats their only chance to gain power, as they have become a party unwilling to compete for a broad coalition of eligible American voters. Federal election integrity legislation like the SAVE America Act is necessary to secure Americans the right of self-government in case Democrats gain control of immigration policy again.
