With David Hogg, Democrats Double Down on Gun Control Extremism. Will Voters Buy It?

Democrats couldn’t have picked a more anti-Second Amendment vice chair with a pattern of shooting from the hip.

While Donald Trump is busy delivering Americans victory after stunning victory, Democrats are sending a clear message to gun owners across the nation: We don’t want your votes, bigots.

David Hogg, recently elected to vice chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), may be everything voters loathe most about the socialist Left—callow, angry, and hell-bent on confiscating as many firearms as possible, the Second Amendment be damned.

Barely two weeks in, and even some senior Democrats have accused Hogg of grifting their party by using his promotion to fundraise for his own pretentious political action committee, “Leaders We Deserve”—which pays the 24-year-old agitator $100,000 each year. (Perhaps he should rename it “High on the Hogg.”)

Gun control activism was his first real job, incidentally. Recall that Hogg materialized out of the tragic 2018 shooting at Parkland High School in Florida, perpetrated by a deeply disturbed 20-year-old now imprisoned for life without the possibility of parole.

Democrats leapt at the chance to use an 18-year-old figurehead in the anti-gun March For Our Lives, a supposedly “grassroots” movement in fact bankrolled by George Soros, Obama-affiliated Joyce Foundation, Tides Foundation, George Lucas, the Arabella network, and Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety. In other words, it’s just another pop-up puppet of the string-pulling Left.

The march has since ossified into a Beltway lobbying group, chucking hundreds of thousands of dollars since 2018 into Democrats’ efforts to restrict gun rights. “Saving lives” somehow also includes the usual (yawn) litany of things like abolishing photo ID laws, removing armed cops from schools, expanding child tax credits, and instituting government-run healthcare.

One of the march’s wins was establishing the much-hated White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, described by experts as a bureaucrat-run “shadow government” to bypass Congress on restricting gun ownership. Naturally, it was staffed by gun-grabbers from Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety, the group that put Hogg on the map… until Trump shut it down earlier this month, that is.

Bizarrely, Hogg framed the office as representing “black, brown, and indigenous lgtbq women and non binary people.” Huh?

Hogg-wash

Then again, “Camera Hogg” was never the sharpest bulb in the knife drawer.

“Lincoln was a really good president,” he tweeted in 2020. Reprimanded by the Twitterati, he changed his mind three hours later: “Actually . . . he was not a really good president.”

Of illegal aliens, Hogg once declared, “America doesn’t just owe these refugees citizenship we also owe them reparations for destroying their home countries and making them refugees to begin with.”

Other comma-averse hits include:

  • “Defund the police not USPS”
  • “Abolish ICE”
  • “If you’re pro gun you’re not pro life”
  • “Fund reparations not war”
  • “The filibuster is killing our republic . . . it’s time we fucking abolish it”
  • “If you need a license to kill deer why don’t you need one to kill humans?”

“I believe the Second Amendment has been intentionally misinterpreted. It was never meant as an individual right,” he pontificated in 2023. “it was created to protect state militias like the national guard.”

Not according to the U.S. Supreme Court, which concluded that the Constitution’s framers unambiguously intended “right of the people” to mean an individual right to bear arms, just as they used “right of the people” to protect the individual’s right to free speech in the First Amendment and protection from unlawful searches and seizures in the Fourth Amendment. “All three of these instances unambiguously refer to individual rights, not ‘collective’ rights, or rights that may be exercised only through participation in some corporate body,” Justice Scalia wrote in the landmark 2008 Heller decision upholding individual gun rights. (Read the opinion yourself; it’s as brilliant as it is scathing.)

The ‘60s, Now & Forever

Look, these are the oinks of an ADHD-addled mental midget whose entire exposure to American history comes from Howard Zinn’s awful A People’s History of the United States. And that would be fine and excusable, were Hogg a private citizen and not thrust on the public stage to win votes. What else can anyone expect from a child exploited by savvy Democrats thrice his age for partisan gain? But he’s as much another victim of America’s scheming ruling elite as Greta Thunberg or any number of damaged youth abused by Davos Democrats.

Why Hogg? Senior Democrats like Tim “Knucklehead” Walz and Rep. Eric Swalwell—who, let’s recall, demonstrated his good judgment by falling for a Chinese spy plot involving a honeytrap named Fang Fang—“couldn’t be happier to support him for DNC vice chair” in January, believing Hogg will win back young voters.

Actually, that’s putting it mildly. Gen Z—the oldest of whom are 27—are in open revolt against the decrepit and out-of-touch Democratic Party. Joe Biden won the under-30 vote by 25 points in 2020; four years later Kamala Harris won them by just 6 points, a gigantic 19-point swing to the Right. This in the first election where “Zoomers,” not the more liberal Millennials, overwhelmingly comprised the youngest voting bloc.

For Democrats who once bet the farm on young voters, that’s cataclysmic—and profoundly encouraging for un-woke America. Naturally, Boomer leftists scrambled to hire a new DEI frontman in David Hogg—a sop to the youth in revolt, the only tactic they know.

But why should young men and women stick with the cynical elites who’ve run the country for 12 of the last 16 years, more than half their entire lives? High school seniors are the first generation who expect to earn less than their parents, work crummier jobs, and shun higher education. They’re even less confident than the dour Millennials who entered the workforce after the 2008 Great Recession.

That’s true of men and women, which is why they’re flocking to the America First camp in droves. 2024 was not the “testosterone vs. estrogen” election, as has-beens on the Left consoled themselves after Kamala’s drubbing. Women may have staved off a red wave in the 2022 midterms, but they rocketed to the right after Democrats proved themselves clueless. Men just got there faster.

“I want to show young people that the party does care about them, that we are fighting for them,” Hogg says.

How? By risking World War III in Ukraine, a useless war that would be fought by Zoomers; papering over the obvious Social Security fraud exposed by DOGE, a program widely despised and mistrusted by the young; suddenly pretending to care about Bidenflation after years of ignoring it; laughably accusing Elon Musk of running a “deep state”; legalize all drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine; and pushing Biden’s unconstitutional assault on gun rights.

In other words, it’s business as usual at the DNC with Hogg in command—and with the 2026 midterms on the horizon, thank God for it.
