PROMISES KEPT: Trump Shuts Down Biden's Anti-2A "Gun Violence" Office

President Donald Trump closed the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention described as "a shadow government office" by Second Amendment advocates.

The Biden administration’s White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, criticized by pro-firearm groups as a "progressive" policy back door, has officially gone dark under President Donald Trump after only 15 months of operation.

Gun control advocacy groups lamented the news on X/Twitter while pro-gun groups celebrated the removal of the never before seen "shadow government office" that allowed advocacy groups to establish a questionable foothold in federal policy. Former Vice President Kamala Harris first created the office in September 2023, and numerous gun control advocacy groups proceeded to say the quiet part out loud—claiming they were behind the whole thing.

"This gun control bureaucracy had no place in the White House, and it should never have been created. Its supporters are having fits on the Internet, which convinces us that President Trump’s swift action was correct," said Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Gottlieb described the office as "a shadow government office [established] because Congress rejected [Biden’s] extremist agenda of gun bans, gun registration, and other Second Amendment infringements."

Gun Control Meltdown

The White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention was staffed by previous members of the gun control lobby, including Rob Wilcox, who worked as the Senior Director of Federal Affairs at Everytown for Gun Safety—leading many to believe advocacy groups were pulling the strings.

To no surprise, the gun-grabbing groups were furious after Trump terminated the office.

"On day one, Trump disbanded the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention—a lifeline survivors fought to create. Federal action brought us to historic lows in violent crime by 2024. This is what happens when you abandon progress. People will die," gun control advocacy group March for Our lives wrote on X.

March for Our Lives took credit for the creation of the office in September 2023, saying, "Even after we were told we shouldn’t bother fighting for it, we persisted."

Everytown for Gun Safety posted a similar message on X, claiming the decision to remove the office proves the Trump administration "works for the gun lobby, not the American people."

Second Amendment Restoration

The Trump administration’s swift action to remove the authoritarian White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention represents a necessary step towards renewing constitutional rights in America.

The Biden administration’s overreach showed Americans that the Left has no qualms about using its power to weaponize the federal government against the American people.

Now that the tides have shifted, gun owners should look forward to the continued restoration of Second Amendment rights under President Trump.
