We Just Glimpsed Democrats’ 100-Hour Abortion Playbook
Do conservatives have what it takes to withstand the evil right before our eyes?
As the midterms barrel towards a deeply divided America, Democrats are increasingly optimistic about flipping Congress.
That's a plausible—if not guaranteed—outcome, as pollsters predict Democrats will take a House majority of at least 20 seats. And while November 3rd is still weeks away, Americans have already received a glimpse of what to expect if the blue wave hits.
In a memo sent in early September by the Cost-of-Living Healthcare Working Group to Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Democrats expressed determination to reestablish the "federal right to abortion" within 100 hours of seizing congressional control. Pro-abortion activists hope this could lead to abortion on demand, without apology, without limits, and pack the court to get there.
Led by Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Terri Sewell (D-AL), the group intends to combat Republicans' "attacks on reproductive rights ... and essential reproductive care."
The plan is twofold: first, pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would require abortion to be treated as a "medically comparable procedure" and "permit people to seek and obtain abortion services." In other words, an abortion must be treated as any other medical condition without limits or exceptions. According to Democrats, this is the bill women need to "protect women's ability to participate equally in the economic and social life of the United States."
Secondly, they'll enact the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH) Act, ending the longstanding Hyde Amendment blocking taxpayer-funded abortions. Additionally, the bill would guarantee that women receiving federally funded healthcare plans such as Medicaid would receive abortions free of charge—directly targeting unborn children in rural, minority, and underprivileged populations.
Their play comes as no surprise. Democrats have pined for abortion expansion before the 2022 Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade. Many pro-life Americans assumed that the landmark federal case would successfully undermine the pro-abortion advance. And while Dobbs correctly overturned the demonstrably unconstitutional Roe decision, it was only a starting line—never the end.
When the country can’t define when life starts, when intrinsic value is assigned, or whether unborn children are worthy of the same constitutional freedoms the rest of us are afforded, one shouldn’t be surprised that there are legislators in power who seek to euphemize their way into federally legalizing, incentivizing, and celebrating the murder of unborn babies.
The slippery slope Democrats have willfully descended is detrimental to society, as it popularizes a disregard for human life from beginning to end. And the slope will always lead to desensitization of gross immorality.
Where Does It End?
In 2024, the Netherlands legalized euthanasia of children ages one through 12. A year later, a two-year-old with severe disabilities was euthanized in the name of "empathy" and "death with dignity," as if the toddler was an animal with a broken leg.
Until recently, Canada’s parliament was seriously considering legalizing Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) for patients whose sole ailment was a mental illness.
Across seven years, 24 babies survived botched abortions in Minnesota. None received life-saving care. Many of their medical reports indicate "no measures taken to preserve life were reported and the infant did not survive." At the time, state law required medical professionals to "preserve the life and health of the born alive infant."
In 2023, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) authorized legislation that removed the term "preserve the life" and replaced it with "care for the infant born alive," allowing for doctors to do nothing more than keep dying babies who had survived brutal abortion attempts "comfortable" until they passed "naturally."
Texas Senate candidate James Talarico (D), who currently leads his Republican opponent Ken Paxton in the polls, has claimed voters have a "moral imperative" to vote for him this November.
In 2025, Talarico appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast to argue there is "no historical, theological, biblical basis" for Christians to oppose abortion. Later, he implied Christians should support abortion, citing Luke 1:26-38 and stating God asked Mary if the incarnation was "something she [wanted] to do." All claims made to audiences numbering in the millions.
For their part, Republicans are guilty of straying from the necessary, stringent stance against abortion, instead muddying the waters and dancing around the issue. Candidates and elected officials across the country have weakened their position to appease moderate voters, a calculated move that is just as harmful as the likes of Talarico.
All these occurrences contribute to the narrative that "abortion is healthcare" and undermine the sanctity of human life and the means by which abortion ends it. Whether inadvertent or otherwise, they all propel legislation like the Women’s Health Protection Act and EACH forward.
The likelihood of Democrats taking the House is high. The Senate, though still in play, isn’t out of their reach. But the real question to ask is whether Republicans and the country at large have the fortitude to withstand attacks on the right to life—and the cultural disease that spreads when our most innocent go unprotected.
