Tammy Baldwin Guts 200 Racine Factory Jobs, Sends them to Mexico
The Senator for Madison just helped kill a historic Racine manufacturer operating since 1842, more evidence that the Democrats don’t care for the working man
Racine workers have been manufacturing tractors, combines, and other agricultural equipment for over 180 years, supplying the farmers who feed Wisconsin and the nation. That legacy’s now coming to an end thanks to far-left Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D), as factory owner CNH Industrial announced plans to lay off over 200 workers and relocate its Racine plant to Mexico.
Baldwin was quick to call the move a “slap in the face” for the plant’s workers, and it is—only she’s doing the slapping.
The plant closure comes after a 9-month strike by 1,200 United Auto Workers (UAW) members in Racine and Iowa ending in Jan. 2023, when the company agreed to new bonuses and dramatic pay raises (as high as 38 percent)… with thumping support from Tammy Baldwin and socialist Sens. Bernie Sanders (VT) and Elizabeth Warren (MA).
That 260-day strike ultimately cost 200 Racine workers their jobs, but Baldwin and Sanders don’t care. Being a Democrat means never having to say sorry—and never suffering the consequences of your own policies.
