Restoration of America Efforts Inspire Nearly 40,000 Messages to Congress
Season 2 of Restore The Military podcast tells you why.
Every year, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) follows the same script: months of hearings, amendments, and floor debate, followed by a conference committee that meets behind closed doors to decide what actually survives. It's in that closed-door process—largely invisible to the public—that carefully negotiated reforms often quietly disappear before the bill ever reaches the president's desk.
This year, Restoration of America Foundation (ROAF) decided not to let that happen without a fight.
ROAF mobilized nearly 40,000 messages to House and Senate offices, reaching lawmakers in 392 districts across 49 states. The goal: protect the reform provisions in the Fiscal Year 2027 NDAA, including a merit-only standard for military promotions and admissions, and sex-neutral combat fitness standards.
The stakes are real. The cloture vote, needed to proceed to a full vote of the Senate, failed on July 14th, and the bill has been stalled ever since. These reforms are now in question as conference negotiations loom.
