Republican Governors Take Action to Remove Noncitizen Voters
Over 16,000 noncitizen voters removed from voter rolls in 4 red states. Why are Democrat governors silent?
Republican-led states are taking the threat of noncitizen voters seriously by removing illegally registered voters from the rolls. Democrats fail to safeguard the security of the election system and they continue pushing to make it easier for noncitizens to vote.
Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris has welcomed tens of millions of illegal aliens into the United States during her administration. Her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, signed legislation making it easier for noncitizens to vote in his state by giving driver’s licenses to all. In Walz’s state, if you simply check a box stating you are a U.S. citizen, are 18 years old, have a driver’s license, and are a resident in the state for 20 days, then you can vote. If someone will violate the law by crossing the border illegally, what would stop them from lying on a form to vote? Especially when Democrats welcome them across the border rather than punishing them for breaking the law.

In 2024 alone, 4 Republican-led states purged over 16,000 noncitizen voters from their rolls. Alabama purged 3,251 and Ohio 597. Texas removed the most with 6,500 but Virginia had nearly the same amount with 6,303 noncitizens removed. How does Virginia have the same amount of noncitizen voters as a border state? Democrats had control of the commonwealth for nearly 10 years, but now a Republican has taken control. Thanks to Gov. Glenn Youngkin for taking voting integrity seriously—one can only imagine that a Democrat governor would not have done the same.
In the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden won the state of Georgia by less than 12,000 votes. It is imperative that with such a slim margin of votes determining the outcome of elections, state Boards of Election across the nation must follow the laws of the land to prevent noncitizens from voting.
North Carolina GOP Fights to Hold their State Board of Elections Accountable
The North Carolina Republican party has sued the N.C. State Board of Elections (NCSBE) because the board recently admitted they didn’t comply with a federal requirement to collect identification from people seeking to vote prior to processing their voter registration applications. North Carolina reportedly has over half a million foreign born non-citizens residing in the state. The NCSBE, appointed by Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper, is comprised of 3 Democrats and 2 Republicans.
The lawsuit alleges the NCSBE is in violation of the 2002 Help America Vote Act which requires voter registration forms to include a driver’s license number or last four digits of a social security number. Over 225,000 people registered to vote in the Tarheel State without required identification. The suit calls for these registrations to be invalidated. Why isn’t Josh Stein stepping in to enforce the law?
Another lawsuit filed against the NCSBE in Wake County Superior Court calls for the election board to remove noncitizen voters in accordance with a new state law that went into effect July 1, 2024. North Carolina permits non-citizens who receive jury summons to assert lack of citizenship to be able to refuse to serve on a jury. The new state law calls for county clerks of court to share information with the NCSBE on individuals who self-identify as non-citizens. The lawsuit asserts the NCSBE is not complying with this legal requirement to use the information provided by the clerks of court to remove noncitizens from voter rolls.
Does Josh Stein Support Noncitizen Voters?
Where is Attorney General Josh Stein? He seems to be eerily silent on the matter of election integrity when it comes to noncitizen voters. Stein has a history of only backing the laws that align with his radical views. His campaign website states: “the state should be about protecting people’s right to vote, not restricting it.” Does that include noncitizens? He is running for Governor, is he counting on some noncitizen voters casting a ballot for him?
It is great to see Republicans fighting back against the illicit actions of Democrats across the nation in charge of elections. Rather than demonizing those who seek to have a secure and fair election, Democrats, should join the efforts to protect election integrity. Instead, Democrats falsely claim there are no voting security issues. American citizens should be the only ones determining the outcome of American elections, not illegal aliens breaking the law crossing the border.
