EXCLUSIVE: More Pro-Life Groups Flock to Get Christians Registered to Vote on Sept. 15
The new push to get believers signed up to vote is growing by the week
Count three more faith-based organizations among the rapidly growing list of endorsements for National Voter Registration Sunday on September 15, 2024: the Wisconsin Faith and Freedom Coalition, Tide Turners NC, and the Asian Action Network.
National Voter Registration Sunday is a nonpartisan, grassroots movement of pro-life Evangelical and Catholic groups launched last month with one goal: Get every Christian nationwide to live out their faith in Christ as both citizens of heaven and citizens of the United States.
Now they join endorsements from Catholic Vote, Faith Wins, North Carolina Values Coalition, Moms for Arizona, Susan B. Anthony List, American Principles Project, American Majority, and the Foundation for the Restoration of America.
“Wisconsin Faith and Freedom focuses on one fundamental problem facing the country today: Almost half of all faith-based conservatives voters failing to vote each election,” said Wisconsin Faith and Freedom Coalition president John Pudner.
“Beyond who wins or loses the problem with faith-based voters not showing up is that candidates stop paying attention to moral issues. For example, in the election after the Dobbs decision 23% of people said the primary reason they voted was that they were pro-choice, but many pro-life Americans felt the battle was won once Roe v. Wade was overturned and only 6% of voters said they voted because they were pro-life.
“Our Number 1 goal is to change those figures by convincing hundreds of thousands of faith-based that it is more important to vote now that Roe is overturned, and if they stay at home that victory will be shorted-lived,” he added.
Linda Ford, director of the North Carolina-based group Tide Turners, said: “As Christians, when we participate in our civic duty to register and vote, we help shape policies that align with our values and beliefs. Our elected officials affect our standard of living, our children’s futures, and ultimately our freedoms. If we don't register and vote, we don't have a say!”
“As we enter the final few months before this most consequential election, it is critical for Christians to register to vote and get out to vote for this first most important cause—serving women and saving babies,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony List.
The coalition continues to roll in new endorsements each week as we approach Sunday, Sept. 15, aiming to create the largest single voter registration drive in the nation.
