Murder, Human Trafficking, and Vehicle Theft are WAY Up in Virginia

Part of a series reviewing the facts about crime in America, despite the legacy media’s gaslighting

Kamala Harris’s FBI wants to gaslight Americans into believing violent crime is down across the country, but they aren’t taking the bait. Here at Restoration News, we decided to run the numbers to see how bad things really are—and to no one’s surprise, violent crime is up everywhere.

As with other states we examined, it matters how you parse the statistics. According to Virginia's uniform crime reporting, which the FBI uses to track national trends, overall crime fell by 2.6 percent from 2019 to 2023. However, the data is skewed by combining financial and minor offenses with serious violent crimes.

When lesser offenses are excluded from the dataset, violent crime in Virginia actually rose by 12 percent over the same four-year period—revealing a 15 percent gap between the reported figures and the true picture of violent crime.

On a crime-by-crime breakdown, murder increased by 38 percent, aggravated assault increased by 29 percent, human trafficking increased by 60 percent, kidnapping increased by 17 percent, and motor vehicle theft increased by 45 percent.

American do not want falsely deflated crime reports that are achieved by mixing petty theft with murder and other heinous crimes. They want the truth.

Regrettably, the FBI under Harris is doing its best to presumably save face for the failed administration she and Joe Biden created over the last four years. If you look at the most recent debate that took place on Sept. 10, she will tell you she has a plan. But why hasn’t she already implemented it?

In short, she and vice-presidential pick Tim Walz are openly pro-crime.

The Left, with the media in tow, is working tirelessly to convince Americans that what they see is nothing more than a mirage. Radicals have intensified their efforts, releasing criminals onto the streets, opening the door to an influx of illegal aliens, dismantling the Second Amendment, and pointing fingers at everyone but Harris's administration for the nation's decline.

Yet, the responsibility to enact real change falls squarely on the shoulders of law-abiding Americans, leaving one question: "Have we had enough?"

A Recurring Trend

Restoration News has continued to review state crime data attempting to understand how the FBI can claim violent crime is down, but every state tells the same story—crime is surging.

In Pennsylvania, the murder rate soared by a staggering 52 percent in 2022. Vehicle thefts also skyrocketed, jumping 71 percent between 2019 and 2022, followed by an additional 60 percent increase from 2022 to 2023. During this same period, arson arrests rose by 26 percent.

Georgia exhibited a similar trend. FBI data initially suggested crime had decreased by 3 percent between 2019 and 2022, but when minor offenses were excluded, the actual crime rate increased by 38 percent.

North Carolina saw a sharp rise in crime as well. Despite FBI claims of a 2 percent decline, the real numbers showed a 22 percent increase over three years. Murders spiked by 40 percent, aggravated assaults by 24 percent, arson by 10 percent, and rape by 9 percent.

In Wisconsin, uniform crime reporting data claimed a 6.5 percent drop in overall crime between 2019 and 2023. However, in reality, crime rates climbed by 14 percent during that period, revealing a 20 percent discrepancy. Murders surged by 43 percent, grand theft auto by 27 percent, simple assault by 14 percent, and aggravated assault by 6 percent.

Moving Forward

Harris and Walz have proven they cannot handle the crime surge everyday Americans are facing. If you need more proof, just look at the failed state of Minnesota during the BLM riots of 2020.

Walz, who was governor at the time, allowed the city to burn to the ground as “protestors” (read: rioters) destroyed 1,500 businesses and caused $500 million in damages.

Walz watched it happen and his wife even said she left her widows “open as long as [she] could” to smell the burning tires from the riots.

After the smoke settled, Harris promoted a bail fund to release the violent criminals back onto the streets. Her endorsement helped raise $40 million that aided the release of murderers, arsonists, rapists, and thieves.

Kamala has had four years. It's time to hand the reins back to the American people.
