Islamist CAIR Endorsing Dozens of Leftists in November Midterms
Its ties to the terror group Hamas should trouble every voter across the country… and give the GOP the ammo it needs to win a tough midterm fight.
A leftist group with well-documented ties to genocidal terror groups like Hamas is endorsing numerous candidates across nearly half of the United States this midterm election year, and that should severely concern all of us.
The Council on Islamic-American Relations (CAIR) might have an innocuous-sounding name, but its ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood and support for jihad over many years have earned it the title of a foreign terrorist organization from at least two states—Texas and Florida—as well as a federal judge. It really shouldn’t be allowed to operate freely in the U.S., let alone campaign for elected U.S. representatives.
But Republicans concerned about the increasing risk and incidence of Islamic terror in our country can use CAIR’s list of endorsements the opposite way the jihad-loving group wants by ensuring we don’t vote for any of their favored candidates.
As far back as 2009, U.S. District Court Judge Jorge Solis ruled that CAIR had ties to multiple extremist groups, including Hamas. An alleged FBI document from approximately the same time showed how CAIR was part of a funding network for Hamas. Due to this evidence, the FBI restricted agents’ interactions with CAIR in 2008. In November 2025, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott labeled the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR “foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations,” banning them from purchasing or acquiring any land in his state. “The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have long made their goals clear: to forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world,’" Abbott said at the time. "The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to support terrorism across the globe and subvert our laws through violence, intimidation, and harassment are unacceptable.”
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis followed suit in December 2025 with an executive order labeling CAIR a terrorist organization. Below is part of the section containing his reasons:
“WHEREAS, CAIR was founded by persons connected to the Muslim Brotherhood and was created, in the words of persons affiliated with CAIR, as ‘an official U.S. cover representing the Islamic community’ to Conceal ties to Islamic extremist groups; and WHEREAS, CAIR was designated as an unindicted co-conspirator by the United States Government in the largest terrorism-financing case in American history, and the court found ‘ample evidence to establish the association’ of CAIR with terrorist organizations, see United States v. Holy. Land Found, for Relief &Dev… and … individuals associated with CAIR have been convicted of providing, and conspiring to provide, material support to designated terrorist organizations…”
Now, Congress is considering its own legislation designating CAIR a foreign terrorist organization at the national level.
There are plenty of concrete examples showing this is long overdue. In response to Hamas’ atrocities in Israel on October 7, 2023—when jihadis raped, tortured, mutilated, and murdered civilians of all ages—CAIR’s executive director Nihad Awad stated, “I was happy to see people breaking the siege . . . the people of Gaza have the right to self-defense, have the right to defend themselves, and yes, Israel, as an occupying power, does not have that right to self-defense.” In fact, the Gazans are the invaders into Israel, which is the rightful power, but truth never fazes jihadis.
Awad helped formulate what became CAIR at a 1993 Muslim Brotherhood meeting. In 2025, Noorah Shalash—a former Director of Government Affairs for CAIR-Kentucky—assaulted a Jew in New York City, crying: “I demand jihad, I want ISIS to kill all of you.”
Congress itself has documented these. From the legislation above: “In October, 2000, at a large CAIR rally in Washington, DC, featured speaker Abdurahman Alamoudi, later a convicted terrorist and Al Qaeda financier, publicly expressed support for both Hamas and Hezbollah as the crowd cheered him on.”
Courting the CAIR Vote
With all this in mind, let’s look at the list of candidates that have CAIR’s endorsement, and please keep reading for a closer look at several of these candidates. In some cases, the list of candidates from a specific state was too long, but I have linked to CAIR’s guides in these cases.
California:
Tom Steyer for governor (D), Oliver Ma for Lt. Gov. (socialist), AG Rob Bonta (D). Northern California: Rep. Mike Thompson (D), Connie Chan for Congress (D), Rep. Ro Khanna (D), Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D), Assemblyman Alex Lee (D), and many more. Central California: Lourin Hubbard for Congress (D), Manpreet Kaur for state Senate (D), and more. Southern California: Rep. Judy Chu (D), Rep. Maxine Waters (D), Rep. Robert Garcia (D), Fatima Iqbal-Zubair for Assembly (socialist – pro-Iran regime activist), Chris Kluwe for Assembly (D), and more. Delaware: Tracey Miller for Congress (D), Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D), Lt. Gov. Kyle Evans Gay (D), and more. Florida: Oliver Larkin for Congress (Democratic Socialist). Georgia: Rep. Hank Johnson (D), Sen. Jon Ossoff (D), state Sen. Shiekh Rahman (D), state Rep. Muhammad Akbar Ali (D), state Rep. Tanjina Islam (D), and more. Illinois: state Rep. Nabeela Syed (D), Rep. Robin Kelly (D), and more.
Rep. Andre Carson (D). Michigan: Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D), Abdul Al-Sayed for Senate (D), Abraham Aiyash for state Senate (D), Aisha Farooqi for Congress (D), Donavan McKinney for Congress (D). Missouri: Rep. Cori Bush (D). Minnesota: Rep. Ilhan Omar (D). New Jersey: John Hsu for Congress (D – Bernie acolyte), Rep. LaMonica McIver (D), Adam Hamawy for Congress (D – al-Qaeda-tied radical), and more. New York: Darializa Avila Chevelier for Congress (Democratic Socialist – Mamdani-aligned) and Rana Abdelhamid for Assembly (D – radical Islamist). North Carolina: Nida Allam for Congress, Nasif Majeed for state House (D), Sherita Walton for District Attorney, Rodney Sadler for state House (D), and Cameron Zamot and Sana Saddiqui for Raleigh City Council (D).
Ohio:
Amy Acton for Governor (D), Don Leonard for Congress (D), and more. Pennsylvania: Chris Rabb for Congress (D), state Rep. Ismail Smith-Wade-El (D), state Rep. Tarik Khan (D), and more. Texas: Houston City Council Joe Panzarella (“progressive community organizer”), Rep. Al Green (D), Tiffany Perkinz for State Board of Education (D), and more.
These are the endorsements specifically for 2026. For some states listed on the site, the most recent endorsements are from 2025, as in Arizona with Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D) or Virginia with Lt. Gov. Ghazala Hashmi (D).
Unsurprisingly, a lot of the candidates CAIR endorses are Muslim and focus on Islam as a defining part of their campaign, like North Carolina’s Nida Allam, first Muslim official in the state who just lost her 2026 primary and blames Israel for it. A number of the other endorsed candidates on the list lost their primaries already—like Al Green in Texas—but many others won or are projected to win.
Notice that the entire list of candidates above with 2026 CAIR endorsements are on the political Left.
Connie Chan has served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and is interesting mainly because she is running to replace the finally retiring relic Rep. Nancy Pelosi. Chan raised controversy over her ties to a Chinese Communist Party state propaganda outlet. The CCP has supported Hamas and Iran’s regime throughout their ongoing war with Israel. Another wacky candidate in California with CAIR’s endorsement is Chris Kluwe, a former NFL player who lost his job as a high school coach for an extreme anti-MAGA rant and who is now trying to turn his activism into an Assembly seat. Like Kluwe, New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver is more activist than politician, and the Justice Department charged her in 2025 after she broke the law by “forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers” at the Newark ICE facility. McIver falsely accused Israel of inducing “forced hunger” in Gaza.
California Rep. Maxine Waters is renowned for her inarticulate, ineluctable ramblings, and she also used inflated statistics from the Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health to issue a false accusation that Israel was deliberately killing civilians. Her equally ignorant colleague from Georgia, Hank Johnson, the man who was worried Guam would “tip over and capsize” from having too many people on it, also used Hamas-sourced statistics to whine to the Biden administration about the need to pressure Israel into a “ceasefire” despite Hamas breaking every ceasefire.
You will notice in the CAIR-endorsed list multiple members of “the Squad” (Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush), who habitually spout anti-Israel and pro-Hamas propaganda. Tlaib, who is “Palestinian,” has repeatedly used the slogan “from the river to the sea,” a genocidal chant meaning the utter destruction of Israel and its people. Instead of recognizing the Palestinians are the genocidal side in the war with Israel after Oct. 7, Cori Bush accused Israelis of “ethnic cleansing.” Ilhan Omar accused Israel of “genocide” and defended violent campus protestors who expressed support for terrorists. Omar – who is currently under federal scrutiny for immigration and taxpayer funding fraud – is also the daughter of one of the Somali jihadis responsible for the Isaaq Genocide in Somaliland. Omar was welcomed in Somalia with acclaim by an architect of the massacre.
Speaking of CAIR-endorsed candidates with ties to terrorism, New Jersey’s Adam Hamawy traveled with and testified on behalf of the “Blind Sheikh” who orchestrated the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Hamawy also worked with Benevolence International Foundation, a group later shut down in a joint Bosnian-U.S. effort after it turned out to be an Osama bin Laden-founded front for funding al-Qaeda.
What do all these candidates have in common? They aim to undermine American interests and promote radical Islam from within our nation’s government.
