VIRGINIA: Abigail Spanberger Worked for Woke, DEI, Anti-Police Education Consulting Firm

EAB Global gets rich off taxpayers and helps colleges and military academies meet unlawful quotas.

EAB is an education consulting firm with contracts in local school districts, colleges, and even the Defense Department. EAB uses local, state, and federal tax dollars to push a woke, anti-police agenda onto students and employees, rather than advocating for academic achievement. Virginia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger helped carry out EAB's agenda when she was employed with them prior to her congressional job.

Spanberger worked for EAB to "help higher education institutions diversify their student body." Spanberger's affiliation with the anti-police, far-left radical EAB should be a warning to Virginia voters. She pretends to be a moderate but that is not reality.

The EAB website instructs school leaders to "consider how their police department partnerships or School Resource Officer (SRO) programs may reinforce systemic racism in their communities." The company encourages schools to teach students to "reflect on racism and white privilege." Not only do they push racist agendas, but they also advocate for boys to invade girls' private spaces by pushing "gender inclusive" restrooms.

EAB Pushes Activism over Academics

EAB claims "racism is . . . embedded in today's social, economic, and political systems." They said the death of George Floyd "ignited demands for racial justice and prompted deeper reflections on white privilege across the nation" and schools "are not exempt from these nationwide demands." EAB encourages institutions to be proactive in meeting the activist demands of students—even promoting an online demand tracker at Emory University to track responses to student activist demands.

In 2020, EAB developed a resource guide encouraging student activism claiming, "leaders in higher education should not view activism solely as a liability but as an opportunity for progress and improvement." They told colleges and universities to get staff and faculty buy-in on important issues because, "too often, the burden for implementing change and carrying out action items disproportionally falls on BIPOC faculty and staff."

EAB further asserts that standardized tests "keep Black [sic] students from enrolling in college in rates comparable to their white peers." Margaret Sullivan, EAB Associate Director of Research claims traditional grading practices, like grading homework and the requirement to turn in work on time, are racist because they foster "unconscious biases." She pushes controversial "equitable grading practices" that eliminate the traditional A-F grading model and prohibits giving deductions for work turned in late or for work not done. These practices set students up for failure in the real world and lower academic standards.

At the K-12 level, EAB pushes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives through leadership forums. They drive the narrative that race is the factor at the center of a person's identity and push districts to form DEI departments. EAB promotes professional development for staff that encourages them to have conversations about race that pushes a "white privilege" narrative. Equity must be put at the center of every conversation according to EAB, and social justice lessons are encouraged.

That's just the start. EAB also pushes their woke agenda through the Defense Department.

EAB Hired to Increase Diversity at Military Academies for $15 million

EAB has multiple contracts with the U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Military Academy at West Point to assist with recruitment. These contracts emphasize the use of the College Greenlight Network, a part of EAB that works to enhance diversity recruitment. The Naval Academy contract has performance periods from July 2023 through June 2024 with extension options through June 2026. The contracted amounts have been redacted, but USA Spending indicates the Department of Navy awarded EAB over $4.5 million in contracts. West Point's $5.4 million contract with EAB began in December 2022 with option years through 2026. There was a previous 2018-2022 West Point contract for "enrollment management" worth up to $6 million.

The recent West Point contract with EAB states West Point's key performance indicators include "diversity-centric applications" and that "a diversified Corps of Cadets is—now more than ever—essential for the future of the Academy and the U.S. Army officer corps." The contract specifies the contractor shall provide the government with a newsletter "sent to H.S. [high school] students of color." The contractor was to provide exclusive access in "support of the Government's access and equity goals."

This documented evidence shows EAB helping U.S. military academies recruit "students of color" over white students. It's not known if EAB is still working with the defense department to push the racist equity agenda, but Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has made it clear these practices are no longer permitted.

Not only has EAB gotten rich from federal contracts, they have numerous lucrative contracts with state colleges and universities, and K-12 schools across the nation. Here are just a few examples:

Colleges:

K-12 Public Schools:

  • Virginia Beach City Public Schools: $159,000 (non-competitive contract) for 3 years of forums
  • Stafford Public Schools, VA: $23,500 for 1 year forum membership
  • Circleville City Schools, OH: $28,500 for professional development
  • Parkway School District, MO: $29,508 for a forum
  • Wheeling School District 21, IL: $46,500 for a leadership forum
  • Fairfield Community School District, IA: $96,110 (5-year program to "raise teacher morale" through virtual workshops and office hours with EAB experts). This district only has 1,500 students.

A total cost couldn't be found but Virginia Military Institute reports EAB worked with them for years, and a state audit report indicates "VMI was grossly overpaying. . . for marketing services with EAB."

EAB's tentacles run far and wide across the nation pushing woke, anti-police, racist agendas. Community members would be wise to question their local and state leaders to find out if EAB has a contract funded with taxpayer dollars with their local institutions. After the Supreme Court effectively outlawed affirmative action, education institutions who hire EAB should face scrutiny over these contracts.
