Virginia's sanctuary policies allowed an accused illegal alien murderer to disappear—and it took a month for anyone to notice.

How does an accused illegal alien murderer end up with a passport, unsupervised leave, and on a flight to Tajikistan?

The answer: sanctuary policies that harbor illegal alien criminals.

Abdulloi Toshpulodzoda, an illegal alien from Tajikistan, fatally stabbed a man in Vienna, Virginia. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity and sentenced to a state psychiatric facility in 2022.

Shockingly, in 2024, George Soros-funded Fairfax County prosecutor Steve Descano permitted Toshpulodzoda to go to the Tajikistan Embassy in Washington to obtain a passport.

In July 2026, the illegal alien was permitted unsupervised leave from his state-run mental health facility. So, he used his passport and fled the country. It took Descano a month to request an arrest warrant.

Why It Matters

Sanctuary havens for illegal aliens—such as Fairfax County and now the entire state of Virginia, thanks to Gov. Abigail Spanberger—threaten the safety of all Americans.

Under Biden Democrats’ four-year reign, tens of millions of illegal aliens infiltrated our nation. El Salvador and other countries emptied out their prisons, and those rapists, murderers, and terrorists then entered our country via our wide-open southern border.

How We Fix It

  • America must elect leaders at all levels, especially prosecutors and sheriffs, who will enforce the nation’s immigration laws and protect their communities.
  • Citizens should report these criminals to Immigration and Customs Enforcement to be rounded up for deportation.
  • President Donald Trump has done a great job of securing the border, but we need to enshrine stronger laws that permanently protect it from future invasions.
  • Victims’ families should file lawsuits against sanctuary jurisdictions for the harms they’ve caused.
