Welcome to the American Color Revolution, Comrades: Coming Together to Tear Apart America (PT. 2)
Islamists, anarchists, race hustlers, Marxists, and communists—each with very different, even contradictory goals—are united in their efforts to destroy America through a color revolution.
In Part 1 of this Restoration News series, we defined the Color Revolution, identified its historical origins, and described how the Left has now deployed it within America’s borders. Next, in Part 2, we discuss the far-left groups instigating and funding the American Color Revolution within our borders and their dark money ties to foreign actors, including international terrorist groups.
Solidarity Means Revolution, Comrades.
So, who are the ideological and financial backers of the American Color Revolution? The short answer: A hostile witch’s brew of Democratic government apparatchiks, globalist billionaires, non-government organizations (NGOs), nonprofits, and rabid hard-left professional activists.

The long answer is that the American Left has banded together with disparate activist groups such as Islamists, anarchists, race hustlers, Marxists, communists, and globalists. Ultimately, these groups have very different, even contradictory, goals, but they unite in their efforts to destroy America. Each group funnels money to and through the others before sending it to far-Left activists disguised as student groups and professional activists disguised as “mostly peaceful” grassroots demonstrators. This purposeful disguising and interconnected funneling make tracing the activists and their dark money funders more challenging, but certainly possible.
Tracking the Color Revolution
In June, The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project launched a new website, ColorRevolutions.us, to document the NGOs, NPs, academic and financial institutions, and foreign governments that put their considerable “financial resources behind the anti-Israel protests after the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel last Oct. 7.” Many of these groups are behind the pro-Hamas campus “protests” as part of the Color Revolution here in the U.S.
In addition, in the spring of 2024, the New York Post tracked and reported on some of the main funders of the American Color Revolution’s “protestors.” The Post’s list included the usual anti-capitalist and anti-American leftist suspects and groups, along with several new names.
Restoration News has produced in-depth research and reporting on the instigators and dark money funding of the American Color Revolution. But new groups and connections emerge almost daily. Like the Heritage site, the independent news site ProPublica recently introduced its 527 Explorer website for voters and journalists to track and “uncover connections across organizations” and donors to the unregulated and unrestricted 527 political organizations.
Using these and other sources, Restoration News has compiled an in-depth list of the most prominent connections actively working in concert to undermine Western society.
Top Globalist Billionaire Funders
George Soros. A well-known former hedge fund manager and present-day philanthropist. Founded the nonprofit Open Society Foundations (OSF) and funded the Tides Foundation. OSF alone donates around $1.5 billion a year to liberal causes. Soros also signed over $14 billion of his $18 billion personal fortune to OSF to fund it in perpetuity. Among other schemes, the long-time Democratic Party megadonor has “financially backed progressive criminal justice reform in district attorney elections, including in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Chicago.” Unsurprisingly, the soft-on-crime DAs involved in prosecuting former president and current Republican presidential candidate, Donald J. Trump, benefitted from Soros’s political influence monies.
The nearly 94-year-old has contributed tens of millions of dollars to political committees and groups like Planned Parenthood, MoveOn, and American Bridge through his Democracy PAC and Democracy PAC II. His nonprofits are also part of the Left’s network of dark money funding the network of far-left activist groups disguised as student-led grassroots groups.
Alexander Soros. George Soros’s playboy son was recently appointed as chair of the Board of Directors of Open Society Foundations. Alex, who described himself as even “more political” than his father, has taken over his father’s political philanthropy empire. He is dating Huma Abedin, a long-time Democrat Party operative and former top aide to Hillary Clinton.According to the Washington Free Beacon, the 38-year-old has given “tens of millions of dollars to Democrats over the years,” including “$5.25 million to the Senate Majority PAC in 2016 and 2018, $721,300 to the Biden Victory Fund in 2020 and $350,000 to Hillary Clinton’s victory fund in 2016.” He has given millions to the Democratic National Convention and other Democratic committees. And in a 2023 interview, Alex told the Wall Street Journal, “he plans to use Open Society’s $25 billion war chest to fund the expansion of abortion and voting rights across the country.”
Felice Gelman. A low-profile retired Wall Street investment banker who financed many pro-Palestinian causes through her vast wealth and NGOs.
Mark Zuckerberg. Founder of Facebook. Zuckerberg funds social justice causes and so-called immigration reform through his nonprofit “social welfare organization” FWD.us, among other groups. He also notoriously funded the Zuckerbucks initiative to influence U.S. elections.
Neville Roy Singham and his wife, Jodie Evans. A billionaire power couple within the far-left global activist movement. They have close ties to the Chinese government and affiliated activist groups known collectively as the Singham Network. Evans is a co-founder of the far-left pro-Hamas activist group CodePink, author of the book “China is Not Our Enemy,” and People’s Forum board member.
Top Leftist Nonprofits & NGOs
Tides Foundation. The nonprofit philanthropic organization dedicated to advancing social justice that connects social justice groups. For the 2024 election, Tides committed “at least $200 million to 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations” to increase voter engagement and mobilization efforts among leftist minority communities. Tides also supports ballot measure campaigns to protect abortion, raise the minimum wage, and prevent so-called gerrymandering.
Open Society Foundations (OSF). The Soros-founded network of leftist foundations in 120 countries that use “grant-giving, research, advocacy, impact investment, and strategic litigation to support the growth of inclusive and vibrant democracies.” OSF has spent more than $302 million in the United States to support a wide array of groups demanding an end to broad-based “structural racism,” immigration reform, democratic participation (whatever that means), media and technology policy, and climate change. OSF is quick to claim it has “never and will never pay, coordinate, or train protestors—regardless of the issue.” Like most leftist nonprofits, however, OSF gives millions of dollars to other leftist organizations, like Tides Foundation and many others, which in turn send the cash to smaller leftist activist groups, making it more difficult to trace the dark money’s origins.
Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RFB). The $1.3 billion philanthropic nonprofit dedicated to social change, social justice, sustainability, anti-racism, anti-sexism, and peace. RFB claims it gives money for sustainable development and peace-building to groups, including the radical anti-Semitic Students for Justice in Palestine.
U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR). An interconnected nonprofit that functions as “a political home for all who believe that freedom for the Palestinian people is an integral part of achieving our collective liberation.” As part of a network of leftist groups, USPCR works with local organizers and activists, policymakers, movement leaders, media, and advocacy organizations to advance “a rights-based, accountability and justice-oriented framework from the U.S. to Palestine.” USCPR activists can download an 18-page activism toolkit designed to “Stop Gaza Genocide!”
Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). A Hamas-allied “nonprofit, grassroots civil rights and advocacy organization.” Established in 1994, CAIR claims to promote “a positive image of Islam and Muslims in America.” The organization uses “media relations, lobbying, education, and advocacy” to represent “a Muslim voice” and “empower American Muslims” to participate “in political and social activism.” The nonprofit supports and advocates for pro-illegal immigration and anti-American groups.
In 2016, a CAIR fundraiser was arrested and deported from the U.S. on terrorism-related charges. The U.S. government found he had ties to the Global Relief Foundation and al Qaeda plus several other known terrorist organizations.
The Singham Network. A group of nonprofits that funds media outlets (among many other initiatives), and spreads CCP propaganda into the U.S. The network plays a significant role in fueling radical pro-Hamas and anti-American activism. It includes overlapping financial connections to The People’s Forum, the Justice and Education Fund (JEF), Shut It Down for Palestine (SID4P—more on them below), the United Community Fund (UCF), the ANSWER Coalition, the Progress Unity Fund (PUF), and BreakThrough News (BT News).
International Terrorists & Foreign Actors
Hamas. Designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department in early October 1997, this militant pro-Palestine Sunni Muslim terrorist group routinely calls for the destruction of Israel and all Jewish people. Backed by Iran, it carried out the heinous Oct. 7 attack on Israel, murdering 1,200 Israelis, injuring hundreds more, and abducting 240 hostages, taking them into their Gazan terrorist tunnels.
According to The Program on Extremism at George Washington University, Hamas has operated in the U.S. since the 1980s. Its own internal documents and FBI wiretaps show the network engaged in fundraising, lobbying, education, and pro-Muslim propaganda. It has clear ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), and other Islamic political and terrorist organizations.
This same terrorist organization supported anti-Israel protests in the U.S. through the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) student activist group. In June, thousands of pro-Hamas “student activists” laid siege to the White House as the MSM deliberately under-reported the event as “a demonstration.”
A Hamas spokesman told Newsweek, “We in the Hamas movement believe that any popular movement demanding an end to the aggression and genocide against our people are useful and supportive activities for our cause.” In other words, Hamas supported the U.S. campus takeovers and encampments. That begs the question as to why Newsweek would speak with Hamas as if they were a legitimate state and not a murderous terrorist group.
Hamas also released a statement aimed directly at the American student activists, calling them “the leaders of the future” and warning that “their suppression today means an expensive electoral bill that the Biden administration will pay sooner or later.” Meanwhile, the pro-Hamas protestors have left college campuses to harass certain U.S. Senators and their families at their homes.
Shut It Down for Palestine (SID4P). Direct links to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The nonprofit “anti-capitalist, antipolice, and anti-government protest movement” formed just after the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel. According to a detailed report by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI), SID4P uses protests, direct-action initiatives, and sophisticated media campaigns to advance anti-America and anti-Israel narratives both online and offline. SID4P’s official website lists its eight terror-linked or foreign actor “convenors” who arrange finances, logistics, and activist activities, including The People’s Forum, ANSWER Coalition, International People’s Assembly (IPA), Al-Awada, National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP), Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), Palestinian American Community Center (PACC), and Palestinian Assembly for Liberation (PAL).
NSJP and Al-Wada have known ties to U.S.-designated terrorist organizations. Unsurprisingly, according to NCRI, The People’s Forum, IPA, and ANSWER Coalition “demonstrate significant financial, personnel, and operational overlap.”
Cuba. Our communist neighbor to the south, supported by its Russian allies, has steadfastly advocated for communism. For decades, Cuba enshrined the role of the Communist Party within its constitution. Cuba’s authoritarian government does not permit political opposition, but it utilizes Marxism in the U.S. as the end to a means—the dismantling of capitalism. Much to the dismay of the Cuban dissidents within the U.S., the communists have joined in with and fueling the leftist activities on our college and university campuses.
Iran. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei blatantly took to X/Twitter to speak to the Left’s student activists, telling them they were “standing on the right side of history” as a “Resistance Front” in the “honorable struggle” against the U.S. government’s “ruthless pressure – which openly supports Zionists.” His open support of the pro-Hamas activists is ironic, to say the least, given that Iran denied any connection to Hamas and the October 7 attack while the Biden Administration is known to fund his terrorist regime.
Ukraine. In early June, the Ukrainian media NGO texty.org.ua published a list of Americans who are “enemies of Ukraine” because they are opposed to or question the billions in U.S. aid given to Ukraine. The enemies of Ukraine spread “Kremlin propaganda” and caused battlefield setbacks for Ukraine. This NGO and the U.S. State Department are closely linked through its founder, Anatoly Bondarenko, who trained in the TechCamp Ukraine program to “apply innovative tech solutions to global issues.” In other words, Bondarenko learned to use digital color revolution propaganda techniques paid for with U.S. taxpayer money and is now using it to target Americans. This list emphasizes “the increasing divide and the complex web of domestic and international interests influencing U.S. policy decisions.”
Those Biden connections to Ukraine really stand out now, don’t they?
Among those on the “enemies of Ukraine list” were mostly individuals and groups from the Right, such as former President Donald J. Trump, Sen J.D. Vance (D-OH), Charlie Kirk of TPUSA, the Cato Institute, the Heritage Foundation, Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro and Michael Knowles, and Ron Paul. Leftist individuals and groups mentioned were Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., linguist Noam Chomsky, CodePink, and Rage Against the War Machine.
What’s Next In America’s Color Revolution?
