The Latest Clinton Cover-Up
The “mainstream” media is consistent on one thing: Covering up for Democrats
The new Jeffrey Epstein document dump is creating headlines around the world as media outlets parse the details. A few new names mentioned like physicist Stephen Hawking and singer Michael Jackson have raised eyebrows, but the bulk of the coverage has focused on former Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.
It’s not exactly shocking to see Bill Clinton’s name tied to the biggest political sex scandal since… well, Bill Clinton. And while there’s no evidence Clinton himself committed any of the same heinous acts as Epstein, the extensive connection between the two is troubling.
The newly unsealed court documents from Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre’s lawsuit against convicted sex trafficker and Epstein confidant Ghislaine Maxwell mention Clinton 73 times. Clinton has also admitted taking Epstein’s private plane, the “Lolita Express,” on multiple international trips in 2002 and 2003. And finally, it’s obvious Epstein had a special affinity for the former President as evidenced by the bizarre painting of Clinton wearing a blue dress—a la Monica Lewinsky—and heels that he displayed in a Manhattan townhome.
But instead of asking the critical “what did he know and when did he know it?” question, the media is trying to equivocate between Clinton and Trump despite the levels of association with Epstein being apples and oranges. Trump’s name appears only 4 times compared to dozens by Clinton, and by all accounts Trump swore off any relationship with Epstein 20 years ago.
Giving Clinton a pass is nothing new for the press. Even before today’s “woke” journalists were out of elementary school, their predecessors were setting the standard. After Clinton’s indiscretions with Lewinsky in the ‘90s, they told us “it’s just sex” and something about “consenting adults” while conveniently leaving out the fact the most powerful man in the world was pursuing a sexual relationship with a much younger female employee and encouraging her to commit perjury. And he managed to avoid serious accountability for a lot of other scandals including Paula Jones, Whitewater, and selling nuclear secrets to China.
But it’s not just Clinton for whom the media kowtows in order to protect reputations and keep in power and influence. He just happens to be the most powerful person whose indiscretions are brushed off by the media. The collection of the left’s miscreants who have avoided accountability is quite colorful.
Take, for example, the “Lion of the Senate,” Ted Kennedy. Blessed by being born into one of the most powerful Democrat families in history, Kennedy got away with escapades that might make even Clinton blush. In 1969, the married senator infamously drove his car off a bridge in Chappaquiddick, swimming off and leaving his companion, 28-year-old staffer Mary Jo Kopechne, to drown. He neglected to report the accident until the next day. Years later, in 1985, a very intoxicated Kennedy ,along with Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd, assaulted a female server at the posh Washington, D.C. restaurant La Brasserie.
Before leaving the Senate two decades later, Kennedy would make at least one return to La Brasserie to have sex on the floor of the restaurant with a lobbyist… but, somehow, all of this was overlooked when he died, and President Barack Obama gave the eulogy at his funeral.
Dodd likewise enjoyed a free pass. He remained in the Senate until 2011 and got a nod from then-candidate Joe Biden to help lead the campaign’s vice presidential search in 2020.
It’s not just politicians for whom the media standard of holding the powerful accountable seems less energetic than one would expect from the self-described “fourth estate.” In 2020, the Black Lives Matter movement destroyed cities on the way to wasting tens of millions of dollars in donor money. The media created an environment that gave BLM a pass on almost everything—which meant that millions of well-meaning Americans donated money to racial justice… only to find out later that BLM founders prioritized lining their own pockets and, according to reports, purchasing a $6 million California mansion with donor funds. The media’s hard-nosed reporting on the money in 2022 came far too late.
Speaking of BLM, which claims America’s justice system is racist, the movement didn’t seem to think it was important to hold to account a Democrat who may have been most responsible for a huge increase in black men going to jail in the 1990s: Joe Biden, who sponsored the 1994 crime bill that led to the mass incarceration of black Americans. Biden has often run under the criticism radar; it wasn’t deemed important enough to do a deep dive into eight women accusing him of inappropriate touching. And even though Biden spent years falsely claiming the truck driver who killed his wife and daughter was drunk and therefore to blame, much of the 2022 coverage of the 50-year anniversary of the crash skipped this important part of the story.
The list goes on and on. The media gushed over Sam Bankman-Fried because of his leftist politics, his alleged desire to improve the world by becoming a billionaire, his alleged business acumen, and his major donation to Biden’s 2020 campaign. He was untouchable, at least until his company imploded and his net worth dropped from $26 billion to…well, a lot less, with jail time to boot. And, suddenly, the press cared deeply about closing the barn door long after the horse had escaped.
The Left and the press (but I repeat myself) spent huge money to go after House Speaker Mike Johnson’s faith, a GOP Hill staffer who classless-ly critiqued the Obama daughters, Nick Sandmann’s alleged racism when he was being assailed by black and Native American malcontents, and other stories that push their narratives. But Epstein, who was first convicted of sex crimes in 2008, was allowed to befriend more and more of the world’s most powerful people with little attention. And even after his second conviction, and his friends evaporated, they were still being protected by the rich and powerful—Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin (IL) couldn’t seem to find the time to investigate the millionaires, billionaires, and politicians who would hang out with a convicted sex trafficker.
It seems that even after his death, Epstein’s associates are being protected. I’d wonder why…if it wasn’t so obvious.
