The Border Patrol Union’s Endorsement Tells You Everything You Need to Know About the Border Implosion

Kamala Harris utterly failed to manage the southern border. The people on the ground know it better than anyone

For the third election in a row, the Border Patrol union has endorsed Donald Trump for president in perhaps the biggest blow to “border czar” Kamala Harris’ campaign yet.

Harris, recall, was put in charge of managing the southern border under President Joe Biden. Almost from day one, the Harris-Biden regime opened the border wide to at least 16 million illegal aliens—including tens of thousands of rapists, sex traffickers, and murderers—and the carnage hasn’t stopped since. Yet Harris claims that, as president, she’ll finally “secure our borders and fix our broken immigration system,” a promise that ranks near the bottom of her list of policy pledges including guaranteeing abortion rights, enacting price controls, and “tackl[ing] the climate crisis.”

None of those rank anywhere near the top of voters’ minds, according to poll after poll.

“If we allow border czar Harris to win this election, every city, every community in this great country is going to go to hell,” National Border Patrol Council president Paul Perez said at Trump’s endorsement rally in Prescott Valley, Arizona, on Sunday.

"Only one man can fix that. That is Donald J. Trump," Perez added.

A Disaster Unfolding Before Our Eyes

A Border Patrol memo released yesterday revealed that 150 of the agency’s 500 cameras (or 30%) along the U.S.-Mexico border aren’t working due to “several technical problems,” creating a massive blind spot for illegal aliens and cartel thugs to exploit.

Those cameras were installed in 2011 to help the Border Patrol keep an eye on huge swathes of the border without committing extra manpower there. Without them, the agency is blind.

In late September, Kamala Harris visited the border in Cochise County—only her second time there as border czar in nearly 4 years—in a shameless campaign stop that Cochise Co. Sheriff Mark Dannels called a political stunt. “Now Harris is visiting the border only because it’s Election Season,” he told Restoration News.

The Harris campaign may believe it’s enough for her to make a photo op for an hour, but Cochise Co. residents live with the fallout of the radical Left’s immigration policies every day. Illegal alien “gotaways are 100 percent controlled by cartels, who use them for smuggling drugs across the border for the past three-and-a-half years,” Sheriff Dannels said.

"A lot of them are single, adult males, not children or females," he added. "This is one of the highest risks America is facing. We're frustrated. Enough is enough.”
