Teachers, Leave Them Kids Alone

Teachers’ unions want Marxist indoctrination camps rather than academic institutions.

America's largest teachers' union, the National Education Association (NEA), is planning nationwide protests on May 1, including coordinated "walk-ins" at schools to "educate, agitate, & organize." Nowhere to be found: Solutions to the academic decline of the public-school system.

The union is going all in on political activism by protesting the lawful enforcement of immigration laws and marching for communist ideals and social justice initiatives.

It's no coincidence that classrooms are becoming more politicized. Teachers' unions prioritize Marxist agendas over core academic instruction.

Leaked Email Lays Out the Details

An e-mail obtained by Restoration News exposes plans to use public schools for nationwide protests on May 1. The Public Education Alliance, a partnership between the NEA and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), is promoting these protests. The NEA is partnering with Chicago based non-profit Midwest Academy to train activists in advance of the protests by "providing organizing tools, guidance, and coordination support ahead of the day of action." The NEA has donated over a half million dollars to Midwest Academy.

Is this how teachers expect union money to be spent?

According to the e-mail, "organizers are intentionally using schools" for these protests that will range from "rallies to walk-ins." Do the protestors plan to breach through the school doors?

In North Carolina, an event called "Students Rise Up" will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at Guilford High School. The event site explains, "we've watched as college gets more expensive, ICE kidnaps our friends" and "billionaires want to rig the system, but we're rising up on May Day because the system can't function without us!" The same event will be held in other school districts across the nation—encouraged and publicized by the NEA.

In Ottumwa, Iowa, the state teachers' union is organizing a walk-in at Douma Elementary School. The public notice calls for people to join "in support of public education as we act in solidarity."

These actions are also happening on college campuses. At Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, a Students Rise Up protest is being promoted by a group called "Socialist Alternative." The group advocates for "building socialism and anarchy through direct action, mutual aid, and education at FAU."

These protests aren't just for students and teachers, events advertise "all are welcome." Will these protests lead to safety issues if protestors breach school doors for the so-called walk-ins?

Leading By Example

The NEA's website proudly proclaims that its President Becky Pringle is a "fierce social justice warrior." She encouraged teachers to attend "No Kings" rallies to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), claiming it was ICE's fault that absences were rising in school. "Students cannot learn when they are afraid their parents won't be home when they return from school," said Pringle.

AFT President Randi Weingarten wants an expansion of socialism in America's schools. The AFT seeks to establish 25,000 taxpayer funded "community schools" that provide "health care and social services in one place." America's public education system was created to provide academic programs—not to install cradle-to-grave government replacement of parents. Radical leftists like Pringle and Weingarten seek to program students to be radical Democrat activists dependent on socialist programs, not productive patriotic capitalists.

Teachers' Union Marxism

Teachers' unions follow the ideology of Karl Marx—advocating that the government should raise the nation's children in the name of equal outcomes. Marxists oppose school choice because they believe it produces class inequality. The unions want all children sentenced to public education control, then students can be turned into the activist class that will further the unions' communist agenda.

The Public Education Alliance is just one group created by the NEA and AFT to advance their leftist activism. These unions have also joined another coalition called the Alliance to Reclaim Our Schools (AROS) whose mission will dismantle the family structure and create more dependence on government—a Marxist ideal.

The NEA and AFT are among thirteen member organizations that form the AROS anti-police activist group. AROS' core initiatives include critical race theory, LGBT issues, DEI, and other social justice agendas. The group claims "exclusionary school discipline policies and policing in schools are ineffective." They advocate for children "ages 0-5" be provided public education, fulfilling their cradle to career government control mindset. AROS also wants "community schools" that expand the institutional role of schools to include healthcare, three meals a day, before and after school daycare, and more.

These programs systematically displace parental authority and expand government dependency.

Communist regimes make control of education a priority so they can shape the minds of children. The unions' agenda follows the same method: minimize parental involvement, control messaging through curriculum, and create dependency. These groups don't care about educating students, they seek to indoctrinate them.

It's time for parents and conservative leaders to stand up en masse and demand Pink Floyd's famous phrase, "Teacher, leave them kids alone!"
