On Illegal Alien Voting, Jeff Jackson is Wildly Out of Touch With North Carolinians

The congressmen running for Attorney General won’t condemn non-citizens voting in our elections, despite massive support for banning the dangerous practice

Preserving voting for American citizens is one of the few issues that virtually every voter agrees on—Republican, Democrat, and independent alike. But not Jeff Jackson.

In May, the Democrat congressmen running for North Carolina Attorney General dodged a key House vote (H.R. 192) that would repeal Washington, D.C.’s non-citizen voting law—a law so expansive it allows some 50,000 non-citizens, including Russian and Chinese embassy staff, to vote in local elections.

143 House Democrats voted against that commonsense and popular bill, signaling their support for non-citizens, including illegal aliens, to determine our country’s leaders. And 18 Democrats dodged the vote altogether—Jeff Jackson among them.

The Democratic Party talks loudly about protecting every American’s right to vote, but does little to stop American citizens from being disenfranchised by foreigners who should be barred from casting a ballot until they earn U.S. citizenship. Every non-citizen who votes illegally steals the vote away from a law-abiding American voter.

By failing to vote at all, Jackson is signaling his own support for the radical Left’s scheme to dismantle and corrupt our election system, and he did it in the most cowardly way.

Polling shows that a stunning 89 percent of North Carolina voters—including Democrats, Republicans, and independents—support the state’s Citizen Only Voting Amendment on the November ballot. If passed, it will amend the state constitution to close the loophole allowing non-citizens to cast a ballot without holding U.S. citizenship, as they’ve done in California, Maryland, Vermont, and other “progressive” bastions.

When Restoration News reached out to North Carolina Democrats about supporting the Citizen Only Voting Amendment in June, none bothered to reply. That includes Josh Stein, the Democrats’ gubernatorial nominee.

North Carolina deserves better than this. If Jeff Jackson won’t protect your right to vote as Attorney General, vote for the Republican who will: Dan Bishop.
