On Abortion, Kamala is the Radical, Not Trump. ABC’s Moderators Hid Her Extreme Views from Voters
Trump is the moderate on the topic, supporting exceptions and limits. Democrats support abortion until birth and even after a child is born.
Kamala Harris lied in the September presidential debate when she said no state allows abortion until birth. In total, 6 states have no abortion gestational term limits—Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, New Jersey, Minnesota, and New York. A woman can abort her baby up until birth for any reason in these states. In 2021, 5 babies were born alive during abortions in Minnesota and in 2 cases there were no attempts to save the lives of the babies.
A radical Minnesota law adopted in 2023 and signed by vice presidential candidate Tim Walz (D) permits abortion without limitation, including in the 40th week. This law supported by Harris’ running mate refers to this killing of babies just prior to birth as a “fundamental right.”
President Trump made his view very clear on abortion and is more moderate than many Republicans on the topic. He believes the decision on abortion laws should be left to the states and there should be exceptions allowed in keeping with most Americans’ views. Trump is also an advocate of in vitro fertilization (IVF), including that government or private insurers should pay for IVF treatment, a more centrist view than that held by many Republicans.
Yet Harris lied—with “fact-checking” support from the debate’s biased moderators—that Trump is opposed to IVF, a position he’s never held.
In Minnesota in 2021, 46 percent of abortions were taxpayer-funded. Not only can a baby be killed just minutes before it’s born, but public funds can be used to pay for it. A minor in Minnesota can also get an abortion without parental consent or notification.
In the Trump-Harris debate, the ABC moderators were focused on “correcting” Trump on topics that didn’t align with their narrative but did not correct Harris even once on her many lies. The Harris abortion narrative is that women will die if they don’t have access to abortion-on-demand, no holds barred.
The truth is that a vast majority of women use abortion as a form of birth control. 97.2 percent of Minnesota abortions in 2021 were elective—meaning without circumstances such as rape, incest, or anomaly of the baby.
President Trump was right in the debate when he said the issue of abortion is tearing the country apart and it’s because the Left continues to lie and manipulate voters on the topic. While many conservatives may not agree with Trump on his more liberal stance on abortion, he is not extreme like Harris. The Democrats used to be the party advocating for safe, legal, and rare abortions, now they are the party of celebrating unlimited abortions as a method of birth control.
