NORTH CAROLINA POLL: Parents Know Better Than Government Schools, Voters Say

North Carolina voters believe parents should control what is being taught to their children in school, not Democrat extremists and transgender ideologues.

For years, leftist indoctrination in government schools has quietly undermined the moral and ethical beliefs of parents. Thanks to the Parents’ Bill of Rights enacted by the North Carolina Republican legislature, though, Democrats can no longer groom your elementary school children by having “conversations” about sexuality and gender identity.

A recent poll by Steve Cortes’ League of American Workers, reveals that a majority of voters in North Carolina support the Parent’s Bill of Rights that is now the law of the land in the Tarheel state—only 29 percent of respondents strongly oppose the legislation.

This new statute makes parental involvement in schools a priority and prohibits school employees from undermining parents by using a different name or pronoun for a student at school to secretly transition a child’s gender. It’s also against the law for children in grades kindergarten through fourth grade to be instructed on gender identity, sexual activity, or sexuality.

It’s unfortunate that a law had to be created for adults to not have these conversations with young children! If an adult were to do that outside of school, it would be considered grooming behavior, why is it ok behind the wall of government schools?

Why do Democrats want to sexualize children? Because it’s no longer your parents Democrat party, it is now a party run by far-left extremists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and transgender activists. They have taken over the party and turned it into a Marxist organization that wants to destroy religion and the traditional concept of family.

No longer is it enough to be tolerant of views of others on the issues of LGBTQIAKWZRNLP+, but if you don’t celebrate it for a whole month in June, hold parades, and fly the transgender flag, then you must be found guilty of a hate crime. Now the trans-agenda is being pushed in schools.

North Carolina School Boards Flaunt the Law

There are still school districts in North Carolina who refuse to follow the law to adopt the Parents’ Bill of Rights for their district. The Chapel Hill-Carrboro School Board is blatantly defying the state legislature, openly refusing to follow the law. Their summer 2024 reading list for 4th graders includes recommendations of books that discuss gender identity, sexuality, and sexual activity.

One book, Ban this Book by Alan Gratz, is the story about a fourth grader who is glorified for putting books in her locker that were deemed age-inappropriate by the school board as she distributes them to children in her school. Another on the recommended list, George by Alex Gino, teaches elementary children about alternate gender ideologies and sexual transitioning.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro school district bribes kids to read these books by promising the chance to win $50 gift cards.

A 2023 statement posted on the district website from the prior chair and current member of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of Education, Rani Dasi, blasts the state legislature for “restricting or banning gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors.” Dasi continues, “I will note that gender-affirming care is considered safe and medically necessary.” The school board further declared that they would have safe spaces for students.

Ms. Dasi should meet Chloe Cole, a young woman who was brainwashed into believing the lies about the safety and necessity of gender transition. She underwent hormone therapy during puberty and had a double mastectomy. She now regrets it and lives with constant health problems and has become an activist speaking up about the dangers of gender transition.

The Durham Board of Education  adopted an LGBTQ+ resolution that “invites all schools to implement. . . lessons and special activities with all students on LGBTQ+ families, gender diversity, and LGBTQ+ history.” A blatant violation of the law.

North Carolina state law (NC § 14-230) is clear that if a school board member refuses to “discharge any of the duties of his office . . . he shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.” The law further indicates that if convicted he “shall be punished by removal” from office. Why aren’t local district attorneys filing charges against school board members who refuse to obey the law?

Voters have made it clear in North Carolina—they support the NC Parents’ Bill of Rights. Any efforts by school districts to undermine the fundamental rights of parents to control the moral and ethical upbringing of their children should be stopped.
