North Carolina Democrat Rep Displays Beheaded Trump Effigy after Minnesota Assassinations
Democrats normalize violent imagery and rhetoric despite lethal consequences
During the anti-Trump No Kings protest this weekend, North Carolina Rep. Julie von Haefen (D-Wake) gave voters a glimpse into the soul of her party—and it’s not pretty.
Von Haefen posted a picture on Facebook of a protester grinning, holding a pole with a beheaded effigy of President Donald Trump. From the pole, hung a banner with the picture of a guillotine and the caption, "In these difficult times, some cuts may be necessary." Von Haefen's post read, "No Kings Protest in Raleigh" and praised the turnout at the protest hosted by North Carolina and Wake County Democrats.
Ironically, von Haefen wore a “Love Thy Neighbor” pride shirt—because nothing says neighborly love quite like glorifying a political beheading.
More grotesque, however, is the timing. Von Haefen saw nothing wrong with posting this imagery mere hours after a political assassin killed a Minnesota state representative and her husband and wounded a state senator and his wife. The suspect, Vance Boelter, whom Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) previously appointed to a four-year term on the Governor's Workforce Development Board, was arrested on June 16. Boelter had an arsenal and a hit list and "No Kings" flyers in his car.
The "No Kings" protests were not events organized by fringe Marxists undesired within respectable Democrat Party ranks. Rather, as von Haefen showed, the party itself hosted them. Additionally, nonprofits and corporations aligned with the Democrat establishment sponsored them, including Walmart heiress Christy Walton.

Sorry She Got Called Out
As word spread of von Haefen's tasteless post, she attempted to go into hiding, even deleting her X account, @juliefornc—a move that might violate state public records laws. Public officials are required to preserve their official communications, and simply vanishing into the digital ether doesn’t cut it under transparency rules.
Many, like the Wake County GOP, are calling on her to resign for her despicable post.

Faced with mounting outrage, von Haefen didn’t apologize. She didn’t even explain. Instead, when she did respond, hours later, she offered a lukewarm, carefully worded Facebook statement that read less like an apology and more like damage control—a genuine mea culpa for getting caught.
North Carolina State Rep. Brendan Jones (R) noted that not a single Democrat House member has stood up to condemn her actions.
It has been over a day since Julie Von Haefen posted a picture depicting the execution of the President and not a single NC House Democrat has condemned her actions.

Democrats' Pattern of Lack of Accountability and Plausible Deniability
Democrats' silence isn’t just typical—it’s revealing. This comes exactly eight years after the infamous Congressional baseball game shooting in which a Bernie Sanders-supporting leftist opened fire on Republicans, nearly killing Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA-01).
North Carolina Speaker Dustin Hall (R) stated: “Her disgraceful behavior fails to meet the standards expected from House members and sets a dangerous precedent in an already volatile political climate. I am examining next steps with our legislative attorneys to ensure this behavior does not continue.”
The public knows If a Republican legislator stood last year next to a decapitated mannequin of Joe Biden and posted it with a smirk, every media outlet would have called for their resignation—and possibly incarceration.
Yet, not only is the national media relatively silent about this incident, von Haefen remains on the guest list for a fundraiser with Democratic North Carolina Supreme Court Justices Anita Earls—who is on the ballot next year—and Allison Riggs.
So far, neither has commented on the matter. Their attendance signals not just tolerance but acceptance of violent symbolism that sends the message to unstable Democrat voters that Republicans are waging an existential war against them.
The problem confronting the American political climate today isn't limited to the occasional rogue Democrat official who makes a crass joke or takes things too far. The problem centers on a Democrat establishment, backed by socially liberal corporate interests willing to go to any extreme and trigger the most unhinged, violent members within their ranks with rhetoric they can hide behind plausible deniability.
Julie von Haefen didn’t just post a regrettable photo. She revealed to the world the violent nature of anti-Trump movement that often justifies acts of vandalism and occasional violence as the voices of the "unheard" and "marginalized." North Carolina deserves better than someone who posts images of suggestive political violence. Americans of all political persuasions should unequivocally condemn violent political rhetoric no matter how strongly they disagree with the other side. So far, it looks like that's just a bridge too far for Democrats.
