Loudoun County Student Newspaper Attacks Christians, Israel, and Trump Voters—School Leaders Silent
A taxpayer funded school newspaper promotes hate and radical political agendas. The silence by the principal and district is deafening.
Articles in the Potomac Falls High School student newspaper and promoted on the school website attack Christians, Trump voters, and Israel. The daughter of Loudoun County School Board member, April Chandler, is the editor in chief of the newspaper and the author of an article titled “There is No Hate Like Christian Love.” Another article falsely claims Israel targeted children in Gaza and compares the Israeli response to the brutal attacks of Oct. 7, 2023 to the Hunger Games. It’s clear the student newspaper is being used as a government funded propaganda machine.
Chandler’s daughter claims Trump is a “misogynist, racist, islamophobe, transphobe” and even calls him a rapist. The school newspaper and website—funded by taxpayer dollars—published and promoted these unfounded libels. The author further claims that if you voted for Trump you “could not be further from Jesus and what he stood for.” She proceeds to translate certain verses of the Bible well outside their intended meaning. In one example, she claims that “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” means Christians should support open borders and abortion.

Misquoting the Bible to Make an Incoherent Point
The same author published an article days later wrongly claiming the Bible “says absolutely nothing about abortion.” Perhaps she should read the Ten Commandments. She further asserts Trump has no interest in protecting women and those who voted for him “should be ashamed.”
An article published by a different student in Dec. 2023 parrots the false Hamas narrative that Israel targeted and killed 6,000 Palestinian children. That author even used the Gaza Health Ministry, an organization controlled by Hamas, as the authority for their claims. The article calls the Israeli response “unproportionate,” “genocide,” and an “ethnic cleansing campaign” against Palestinians. The publication seems more appropriate for the pro-Hamas Al Jazeera network than a school newspaper.
Restoration News spoke to the parent of a Potomac Falls High student. He and another parent met with the principal, Dr. Brandon Wolfe, and shared their concerns about the article, “There is No Hate Like Christian Love.” The parent told Wolfe he found the article “offensive, discriminatory and hateful” and that “it divides students.” He said it allowed open hate and bullying, and “puts a target on Christian students or students whose parents voted for Trump.”
Wolfe replied that the students can publish opinion pieces, as long as they align with the district’s policies and regulations. The parent pointed out that Loudoun County Public Schools’ regulation 8030-3 requires principals to take immediate action and investigate reports of hate speech or related incidents. Wolfe told the parent the students broke no rules. One wonders if Wolfe’s opinion would change if the article said “There is No Hate Like Palestinian Love” or if it referenced Kamala Harris wanting to kill babies.
This doesn’t qualify as just hatred and libel sanctioned by the school district. The Roar newspaper is also collecting money for print subscriptions. Restoration News reached out to Dr. Wolfe asking how the district uses these funds, and asked if he approved of the attacks against Christians and Israel published in the newspaper. As of the date of publishing, Wolfe had not responded.
Loudoun County Schools Side with Radicals
This is not the first time the leadership in Loudoun County Schools has taken a radical leftist posture. Clearly the Loudoun County School District fancies itself a far-left apparatus seeking to silence conservatives. The school board chair recently cut off public comment when concerned parents spoke up about an illegal immigrant student gang member who threatened to kill another student.
The Loudoun County School District needs a reminder that the First Amendment to the United States Constitution applies to all speech, not just the political narratives they favor.
