Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Discover a Spy in the Pentagon—and Give Her a Promotion

Ariane Tabatabai has a Top Secret security clearance and connections to the Iranian regime.

Restoration News recently reported the story of Ariane Tabatabai, a highly ranked civilian appointee in the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris Department of Defense. Tabatabai, an American citizen of Iranian descent who works at the Pentagon, has faced withering criticism from Republicans on Capitol Hill. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) called her an Iranian spy on X/Twitter, and called for the Pentagon to revoke her security clearance. Tabatabai has faced scrutiny as a possible source for leaked intelligence regarding an Israeli plan to strike Iran, in its effort to respond to the proxy war Iran has waged via Hamas, Hezbollah, and other groups in the region.

The Joe Biden/Kamala Harris administration has now responded to the calls to investigate Tabatabai—by giving her a promotion.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Put America’s Enemies Ahead of America

After several unconfirmed reports emerged expressing suspicion that Ariane Tabatabai leaked the highly classified information—marked Top Secret and intended only for America’s “Five Eyes” intelligence partners—the Pentagon promoted her. Tabatabai previously served as the chief of staff to the assistant secretary of defense for special operations. The Pentagon elevated her last week to the deputy assistant secretary of defense for force education and training, despite the multiple ongoing controversies swirling around her.

The Pentagon has tried to claim the leak investigation does not involve Tabatabai. True or not, she still has troubling ties to the Iranian regime, and by extension, to the proxy terrorist groups it props up. Tabatabai, according to National Review, “was part of the now-infamous Iran Experts Initiative — a program used by Tehran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to cultivate relationships with foreign academics who could carry water for the regime.” Tabatabai’s father, a “celebrated thinker” in the Iranian regime, co-founded the Iran Experts Initiative (IEI). He served in the Iran military’s propaganda corps, and then became one of the deans of the state-run Tehran University Law School.

Israel Attacked Iran Anyway

According to the Washington Post, Israel expressed a low level of concern about the information leaked, but they had grave concerns about how the leak occurred:

An Israeli official said the government doesn’t consider the information revealed to have an impact on its planning for possible actions against Iran, but the episode did raise concern about security. “The content is not that significant,” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters. “The fact that there was a leak is a lot more significant.”

The leak of the top secret information did not dissuade Israel from its retaliatory attacks in Iran, which attempted to cripple the regime’s ability to launch further missile attacks. The AP reported:

The Israeli military said its “precise and targeted strikes” hit missile air defense systems and “aerial capabilities” as well as missile manufacturing facilities used to produce weapons that have been used against Israel. Iran insisted the strikes caused only “limited damage.”

Israel appeared confident in its battering of Iran’s air defenses, with military spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari saying that “Israel now has broader aerial freedom of operation in Iran.”

A couple of days later, more details emerged. PJ Media’s Vodkapundit noted, “That’ll leave a mark:”

Reports are that somewhere between one-third and one-half of the IAF took to the skies on Friday night — a remarkable feat in itself if you know anything about what it takes to ready and arm a sophisticated warplane — and every single one of them returned home safely.

An open-source intelligence writer who uses the handle Raylan Givens — I've followed and trusted him for a couple of years now — gave the rundown on the operation, "courtesy of IDF Radio and with the approval of the military censor."

"The attack destroyed ALL of Iran's long-range surface-to-air missile batteries," according to Givens' translation of the IDF Radio report. "All long-range detection radars were also destroyed. Iran is left with only short-range batteries of local Iranian models."

Israel struck key nodes in Iran’s ballistic-missile production and hit a military target in Parchin, where Iran has worked on nuclear weaponization …

Along the way, IAF jets destroyed air defense sites in Syria and Iraq, too. That must have Iran's political allies in Damascus and Baghdad wondering if it's still safe to sleep in their own beds.

Western Pressure Muted Israel’s Response

The Israel Defense Force (IDF) assessment reveals Iran “lost its strategic defense capabilities for the next 2-3 years.” On top of that, Russia’s resources are engaged elsewhere, so they won’t be able to help Iran rebuild for the time being.

Several reports indicate Israel held off on a wider attack inside Iran after the Biden-Harris administration applied pressure. They avoided striking oil fields and other economic infrastructure, in order not to have an outsized effect on oil markets and thus roiling the upcoming US elections.

Why Did Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Promote a Suspected Spy?

The response of the Biden-Harris administration to the controversy around Ariane Tabatabai illustrates a problem that pervades the entire federal bureaucracy. When democrats take control, their habit of bowing to the most radical of the left flank of their party puts America at risk. Placing people in sensitive positions who have sympathies for our enemies naturally leads to a fractured and insecure approach to the geopolitical issues facing our nation. Even worse, once confronted on the error of appointing such a person, they doubled down by promoting her. This is a repudiation to everyday Americans who consider national security more important than DEI hiring practices that advance “representation.”

It's sad that Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East, has to protect itself from such elements in our government. The voters in America must take our responsibility seriously to elect leaders who won’t prostrate themselves to our enemies. As we’ve learned throughout history, appeasing malignant forces never works out well.
