Grassroots Groups: Susan Crawford Must "Cease and Desist" from Pushing False Statements in WI Supreme Court Race
Judicial integrity is at stake in a crucial election where a leftist campaign is willingly violating ethics codes.
Wisconsinites are demanding left-wing Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford "cease and desist" from circulating potentially false statements that could be in violation of ethical requirements, activists told Restoration News. Early voting is already underway for the April 1 election.
In a letter addressed to the Democrat-backed Dane County circuit court judge, Justin Gavery, president of the grassroots group Fair Elections Wisconsin, called attention to potential ethics codes violations by the Crawford campaign. Crawford is running against former Republican Attorney General Brad Schimel, whom President Donald Trump endorsed on Sunday.
Crawford is backed by the Wisconsin Democratic Party, which has received funding from George Soros, the far-left New York billionaire, as well as other Democrat mega-donors.
Gavery told Restoration News that past statements by the Crawford campaign on crime, voter suppression, abortion, and rape are not accurate. They also conflict with Supreme Court rules that prohibit judicial candidates from "knowingly misrepresenting any facts concerning themselves, their opponents, or matters relevant to the campaign." Candidates must "avoid even the appearance of impropriety."
On abortion, for example, the Crawford campaign claims Brad Schimel supports the state’s 1849 abortion law, making abortion a felony while allowing for certain exceptions.
"This statement from the Crawford campaign is just not true," Gavery said. "Schimel has not taken a position on abortion. He supports the peoples’ right to vote on abortion and Schimel has promised to support the will of Wisconsin voters and uphold the law."
On multiple occasions, Crawford has made "knowingly false statements" on the matter of "voter suppression," Gavery says, drawing a false connection between Wisconsin’s voter identification law and voter suppression.
"Schimel is running to uphold the rule of law, and voter ID is the law of the land in Wisconsin," Gavery explained. "Voter suppression is the unlawful interferences with someone’s legal right to vote and for Crawford, or her campaign, to accuse Schimel of this is also false."
Picking up on this point, Wisconsin election law attorney Dan Eastman told Restoration News that Crawford’s overt hostility toward voter ID should disqualify her from the bench.
"We have a House, and we have a Senate, and the people debate, the people decide, and the governor signs the bill into law," Eastman said. "We don’t expect our Supreme Court to overthrow the law created by our democratic process. A judge does not have the power to overthrow our democracy."
If Crawford prevails on April 1, Eastman fears judicial activists will be strongly positioned to enact an undemocratic, far-left agenda that Wisconsin voters and elected representatives would never approve at the ballot box.
"The judiciary is supposed to apply the law and make sure it’s being appropriately administered," Eastman said. "Judges should be above reproach and inspire confidence, not disillusionment. Someone like Crawford should not be campaigning on false facts when they are running to be a supreme court justice, and that’s what’s happening here."
The 7-member Wisconsin Supreme Court is now in the hands of a liberal majority after Janet Protasiewicz, a former Milwaukee County circuit judge, was elected in 2023 amidst a tidal wave of out-of-state dark money. The judges serve 10-year terms.
Gavery sees a "fundraising cold war" going on with the judicial races in Wisconsin where Democrats benefits from out-of-state donors. He recalls that more than 90% of the roughly $10 million Protasiewicz raised came from outside Wisconsin in her successful 2023 race.
This time around, Gavery notes that Crawford is not just benefitting from Soros, but other big-name donors like Illinois Democrat Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Reid Hoffman, the Democrat mega-donor who co-founded LinkedIn, to name just a few. Restoration News has revealed numerous California and New York donors bankrolling the Crawford campaign, with ties to the shadowy Democrat fundraising group ActBlue.
The group’s X account also goes into detail about the big lefty donors trying to swing the Wisconsin election.
UPDATE: GEORGE SOROS and IL GOV. PRITZKER just donated an additional $1 million EACH to the Democrat Party of Wisconsin to help elect CALIFORNIA CRAWFORD!

Thank you @ElonMusk for attempting to finally level the Left’s longtime playing field.
Vote BRAD SCHIMEL early or April 1st
"That’s why this letter is so important," Gavery said. "We need to get back to a place where judges act impartially and are not running for a seat because they are going to enact someone else’s agenda."
