Democrat Lawmakers Want to Persecute their Political Foe: You. Here's Why it Matters
Blue state senator and two governors suggest "showdown" with conservatives using the power of their offices.
New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) has announced Rutgers University will be the new home for the state's Social Media Research Center. The intention? To study the "negative impacts of social media and make recommendations to lawmakers, the governor, and other stakeholders." Just The News reports that New Jersey expects to fund the facility, at least in part, with money from a $17 billion multi-state settlement with Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
This follows on the interview a few days prior with Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), a former CIA analyst, in which she said she wants young conservatives to think twice before going to work for a future Republican administration: "I wanna look at these signature cases and not just focus on the president but on the people who enabled him. I want young people coming out of school to say, 'Should I go work for the Trump administration? Like, that sounds fun, I might get an opportunity.' I want them to be like, 'Lord, that might be buying myself a ton of problems that I don’t want, so let me avoid participating in that.' I want that deterrence message."
America's other CIA operative-turned-Democrat elected official, Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), has hit the campaign trail for a Democratic candidate in Virginia who served for years as the executive director of Open Society-US, the George Soros-funded foundation that has fueled radical leftist protest culture in America. Spanberger's attorney general put out a combative memo in the run-up to this year's midterm elections in which he promised a "showdown" with federal election observers at polling stations in the state.
What They Believe
- Gov. Sherrill has signed into law a new government-run 'social media research' lab. We've seen this movie. The Election Integrity Partnership 'researched' social media in 2020 and ended up flagging Americans' posts for takedown.
- Sen. Slotkin said that she wants to prosecute people thinking of working for President Trump, and to intimidate conservative college grads to fear working in a Republican administration.
- Gov. Spanberger dances on the campaign trail with a Soros insider turned candidate, while greenlighting her AG to threaten federal agents observing election security measures in Virginia.
Why this Rhetoric Is So Dangerous
- As we saw throughout the 2020 election and the entire Biden administration, rabid Democrats will use the full power of the government to conduct lawfare against their political foes. If you are a Republican, expect to be marked for harassment at minimum. The process is the punishment.
- A social media research lab with direct ties to the governor's mansion gives Gov. Sherrill power over freely expressed thoughts online. Who gets to define "misinformation?" Remember Biden's "misinformation czar?" How'd that turn out for our free society?
- This all stems from the mob mentality that demands resistance to the Trump administration, his agenda, and anyone who supports Donald Trump. They still call everyone they don't like a Nazi and say Trump is literally Hitler. "By any means necessary" has graduated from a radical fringe to the mainstream of Democratic politics.
The Bottom Line
Sen. Slotkin and Gov. Spanberger are CIA trained assets who specialized in militias and terrorism. Gov. Sherrill had a distinguished Naval career that included a security clearance to work on Russian policy; as a congresswoman, she served on the House Armed Services Intelligence and Special Operations Subcommittee. All three women know the power of intelligence operations against their enemies. Now they've brought that expertise to public office—and they're openly telling you they'll use it against their political foes.
If you thought the Biden administration's lawfare was brutal, wait till you see what these new Democrats have in mind for you.
