Withdrawing from WHO is a Win for Decency Over Insane Gender Ideology

Trump's withdrawal from the WHO removes the validity of the organization's objections to the true definition of sex.

President Donald Trump's executive order withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization (WHO) removes the WHO's authority on everything in the U.S., including its radical position on gender ideology.

In his final rally, Trump promised a packed Capital One Arena, in Washington, D.C., he would repeal "every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration" within hours of taking the oath of office.

"Somebody said yesterday," he told the crowd, "'Sir . . . let’s do it over a period of weeks.' I said, 'Like hell, we’re going to do it over weeks. We’re going to sign them at the beginning.'”

True to his word, he signed over 200 executive orders on his first day in office—more than any president in recorded history. One of the more notable orders stated, "It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female." This impacts all federal employment policy and will eventually affect all private companies hoping to contract with the federal government.

By properly defining sex as male and female, the Trump administration is protecting people from being discriminated against because they refuse to reject reality and play make-believe with people who suffer from gender dysphoria, are mentally ill, or sadistically enjoy the power trip of forcing co-workers to pretend they are a different sex.

It also renews protections for women. In a society in which the federal government defines gender as "fluid," women face unfair competition in sports and potential legalized harassment from mentally ill men. Anti-discrimination laws could allow female victims of verbal harassment or physical violence from transgenders or simple cross dressers to be prosecuted or sued for not recognizing men as their biological equals—including in restrooms and lockers.

Trump's executive order withdrawing the U.S. from the WHO cited the same reasons he withdrew from it in 2020—its mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic and its inability to act independently of China, despite China contributing 90 percent less to the organization than the U.S.

Abolishing Reality

Besides showing deference to China, the WHO holds radically perverse views on gender identity, even calling gender norms harmful. It defines gender as "the characteristics of women, men, girls and boys that are socially constructed."

But it gets worse:

Gender is hierarchical and produces inequalities that intersect with other social and economic inequalities.  Gender-based discrimination intersects with other factors of discrimination, such as ethnicity, socioeconomic status, disability, age, geographic location, gender identity and sexual orientation, among others. This is referred to as intersectionality.

The WHO's newest edition of its International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD), ICD-11, reclassifies "transsexualism" with "a new concept" of "gender incongruence" to "reflect a modern understanding of sexual health and gender identity." The WHO describes the ICD as "a standard guide used the world over as the basis for health statistics with implications for funding for health services and health insurance."

On Dec. 23, 2023, the WHO announced a panel of 21 members to develop a guideline on "the health of trans and gender diverse people."

A petition opposing the panel notes, "A cursory internet search into the positions and views held by the 21 guideline panel members finds" that "over three-fourths are transgender activists," and "the few physicians either specialize in HIV or are 'gender doctors.'"

The U.S. contributed $1.3 billion to the WHO in fiscal year 2022–23, making it the largest contributor to the organization. Leftist billionaire Bill Gates was the third-largest, giving $830 million through his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Had Trump left the U.S. in the WHO, it would have made it look like his executive order defining sex as male and female aimed simply to placate the social conservative faction of his base.

Withdrawing from it removes another subjective scientific authority leftist media can use to counter biological reality. The BBC tried this when it reported on Trump's executive order on sex, noting the WHO claims "rigid gender norms" negatively affect people. But Americans who aren't obsessed with globalist norms and defending the United Nations' institutions simply won't care what an organization the U.S. withdrew from thinks.

The Biden-Harris administration forced unpopular radical gender policies on Americans, including giving millions of their tax dollars to support gender mutilation. Harris even supported making victims' families fund the gender transition surgeries of their family members' murderers in prison.

Trump's executive order defining sex as male and female kept his promise of repudiating the radical Left's gender madness and restoring a sense of normality to the federal government. Withdrawing the U.S. from the WHO not only removes another taxpayer sinkhole that often backs global adversaries like China but also removes its opinion on sex and gender form being of any concern to Americans.
