WISCONSIN: Leftist Hakeem Jeffries Calls Susan Crawford ‘a Strong Democratic Candidate,’ Funds Her Campaign to Retake House for Democrats
Jeffries wants "an enlightened Supreme Court" to axe two Republican House seats.

Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) recently admitted he sees the Wisconsin Supreme Court race as a way to undo the Republican majority in Congress—pumping $18,000 into Crawford’s campaign to see his plans through.
“We have a strong Democratic candidate,” he said. “Whoever wins is going to determine who has the majority in the Wisconsin Supreme Court.” He added that it was important to have “an enlightened Supreme Court” in Wisconsin because Democrats “need to revisit” the congressional maps “as soon as possible” to eliminate some of the Republican-controlled seats.
Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates are supposed to be non-partisan, and judges, in general, are supposed to interpret the law as it’s written, regardless of personal beliefs.
This hasn’t stopped Democrats from treating—and now openly calling—Crawford one of their own and announcing their plans to use the liberal Wisconsin Supreme Court as a partisan scalpel to redraw congressional lines in their favor.
Previously, a liberal donor advisory group that Crawford spoke at invited participants with the subject line, “Time sensitive: Chance to put two more House seats in play for 2026.”
Crawford has unconvincingly tried to downplay the significance of the group’s blatant partisan appeal. She pretended not to know about the email during her debate with Schimel but in a separate interview said she didn’t “believe” she knew about it.
Even if she didn’t know about it, it’s very clear Crawford has no problem legislating from the bench, including redistricting along lines that help Democrats.
We know this because she said she agrees with the liberal court’s partisan and controversial decision to redraw Wisconsin’s legislative maps in 2023.
In that election, liberal judge Janet Protasiewicz ran on flipping the court to a liberal majority, partly on the promise to overturn district maps drawn by the Republican-controlled legislature. The day after Protasiewicz was sworn in, a leftist group challenged those maps—and Protasiewicz dutifully voted with the liberal majority to overturn them. This forced Republicans to accept Democrat Gov. Tony Evers’ maps out of fear that Protasiewicz and her comrades would impose even more egregiously partisan maps on the state.
The result? Democrats gained 14 House seats in 2024.
This time, it’s even worse.
It’s not simply Wisconsin’s legislature that’s at stake, nor its 6 million residents who will suffer from this attack on democracy.
Jeffries’ tell-all follows an $18,000 donation he made directly to her campaign, joining the numerous outside Democrat mega-donors trying to push Crawford over the finish line—George Soros among them.
As Crawford’s conservative opponent, Brad Schimel, pointed out during their debate, 90 percent of his donations have come from Wisconsinites, while half of hers have come from out-of-state Democrats who want to use Wisconsin’s Supreme Court to enact a leftist national agenda.
This election will determine who controls Congress after 2026 and will set Jeffries up to be the next Nancy Pelosi, playing the role she held as Speaker from 2018–2020, frustrating the will of the American people and dragging the country through endless impeachment coups.
Democrats aren’t hiding their intentions, using the same playbook they always have. Since their radical leftist agenda is unpopular with the American people, they try to rig the game in their favor by using the court system to redraw congressional maps that give them an unfair advantage.
Crawford can try to deny knowledge or cooperation of national Democrats’ plans to use her seat as a launching pad to gerrymander the 2026 midterm elections in their favor. But she indicated that’s exactly what she intends to do through her support of how the liberal high court rigged Wisconsin’s legislative maps.
Wisconsin voters have an opportunity to tell coastal elites like Jeffries that their court is not for sale on April 1 by rejecting Crawford and her anti-democratic agenda. Vote for Brad Schimel today.
