The Churches and Leftist Groups Helping Illegal Aliens Escape ICE Deportation

Why are leftist organizations and "charities" advising illegal aliens how to avoid U.S. immigration authorities?

Another anti-Donald Trump legal group is falsely telling illegals they have “constitutional rights” and coaching them on avoiding the immigration authorities. From Wisconsin to Texas, from New York to Arizona, leftists are helping illegal aliens thumb their noses at federal authorities—including "charities" and churches.

Illegal aliens do not have any constitutional rights — only U.S. citizens do. Foreigners simply do not have rights under the Constitution, period, but especially not when they are here only because they broke our laws to begin with. But that reality hasn’t stopped churches, charities, and politicians from lying and assuring illegal aliens that they have constitutional rights and that they should refuse any cooperation with authorities.

And now Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC), a sketchy organization that coordinates with election officials, the media, and migrants, can be added to the list, as ILRC cards giving illegals advice on balking immigration authorities are being shared at a Tucson, Arizona, transportation hub. The ILRC lies are typical and illustrative of many groups’ instructions to migrants on refusing to cooperate with ICE.

A bathroom at Tucson International Airport as of March 14, 2025, contained ILRC cards, in English and Spanish, taped onto stall doors. It is not known who placed the cards there. The cards contain instructions to illegal aliens on what to say to ICE or other authorities, “I do not wish to speak with you, answer your questions, or sign or hand you any documents based on my 5th Amendment rights under the United States Constitution.” Again, illegals are non-citizens and therefore by definition do not have constitutional rights. But, to proceed with the ILRC claptrap:

I do not give you permission to enter my home based on my 4th Amendment rights under the United States Constitution unless you have a warrant to enter, signed by a judge or magistrate with my name on it that you slide under the door.

This claim about the warrant is also false. In fact, legally speaking, ICE can indeed visit and arrest any illegal alien, and also interrogate and search the illegal without a warrant. The ending of the ILRC card is incorrect, too: “I do not give you permission to search any of my belongings based on my 4th Amendment rights. I choose to exercise my constitutional rights. These cards are available to citizens and noncitizens alike.”

There isn’t a sentence on those cards that doesn’t contain one or more falsehoods, but that is precisely why it is disturbing that they are being shared at an airport. There is no evidence that the airport authorities are aware of the cards, but no doubt one or more individuals chose to provide ILRC cards there because of how many illegals were trafficked into America via that airport. This highlights the bigger problem: Illegal aliens have long defied our laws and our law enforcement because politicians, nonprofits, lawyers, and even church organizations backed them and their law-breaking. That anti-law activism continues to this day, despite a new presidential administration, and all across the country.

As a Tucson native who flies multiple times a year, I can say from personal experience that the Tucson airport in the border state Arizona was, under the Biden administration and our Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs, always crowded with illegals ready to be flown around the country on the taxpayers' dime. Nonprofit group representatives were there to help and herd the illegal aliens, who had their own separate security and boarding lines. There’s no irony like being harassed by a security guard over the cloth religious scapular around your neck while lawbreaking foreigners stream by you in the other line without hindrance.

In February 2024, official data showed that Tucson was the number one border sector hotspot for the Biden border crisis. And now, Tucson is one of the spots where a Biden border processing center, used for facilitating the illegal alien invasion of our country while costing U.S. taxpayers millions every month, is being dismantled by the Trump administration.

Unfortunately, ILRC is not the only group in the only place trying to help illegal aliens avoid the authorities. Catholic Charities Milwaukee created a video making similar false claims to those of ILRC, mendaciously telling illegal aliens they have constitutional rights and cannot be searched/questioned without a warrant. The Texas Conference of Catholic Bishops put up a notice in their cathedral with similar claims, and Bishop Strickland slammed his fellow clerics on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops for decrying the Trump administration’s border crackdown. Unfortunately, as Strickland pointed out, many Catholic dioceses and organizations received staggering amounts of money from the federal government to resettle “migrants” while ignoring the abuses, law-breaking, and child trafficking inherent in the migration crisis. Instead of supporting Catholic Vice President J.D. Vance and President Trump as they seek to protect Americans, leftist bishops are whining about federal funds drying up.

Other religious groups have also been complicit in the crisis, like Lutheran Family Services and affiliates, which received billions of taxpayer dollars to help “refugees” (i.e., illegal aliens—at least 85% of asylum claims are fraudulent). Some Baptist, Methodist, Episcopal, and Presbyterian churches have also been accused of taking government money to resettle illegals. It is unclear if all these woke churches are telling illegals how to avoid law enforcement, too.

But Irwyn Ince, the director of the conservative Presbyterian Church in America’s missions program, instructed illegals how to avoid ICE, according to the Daily Wire’s Megan Basham. And “Bishop Budde,” the woke Episcopal priestess who furiously and infamously attacked Donald Trump from the pulpit, reportedly received millions of dollars to help “migrants,” hence her public tantrum about border security when Trump was at the National Cathedral.

Naturally we have all seen the Democrat meltdowns about the Trump-Vance border crackdown, such as Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) making the insane claim that it isn’t a criminal violation to enter America illegally. Of course, elsewhere, she let her elitist mask slip and sneered that we need illegal aliens to work farms and do menial cleaning/“hospitality” jobs so her fellow elitist Americans can go to college and have white collar jobs. It’s amazing how Democrats in 2025 make nearly the same arguments in favor of illegal immigration that Democrats of the early 1800s made in favor of slavery. The exploitation of labor and the use of illegal aliens to rig population numbers and thus the House of Representatives and Electoral College are likely the reasons behind the numerous Democrat sanctuary cities and states, where politicians and law enforcement are refusing to cooperate with ICE, and instead shielding illegal alien criminals.

Sheriffs in New York's Onondaga County (Tobias Shelley) and Frederick, Maryland, Washington Attorney General Nick Brown, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs are among the officials who at one point—or repeatedly—have defied ICE and/or the Trump administration to protect illegal aliens. This came even as the Trump administration prioritized arrests of only the most dangerous illegal alien criminals, from murderers to child rapists.

What's the purpose in this? The fact that organizations, politicians, businesses, charities, sheriffs, and even churches are pouring out so much effort and money to assist foreign law-breakers at the expense of American citizens is deeply disturbing. It also merits federal investigation. Just how many crimes are these individuals and entities covering up or actively engaging in to fuel the illegal migration crisis for their own profit?
