Reid Hoffman is 2nd-Biggest Democrat Mega-Donor of 2024 (So Far)
The Big Tech billionaire with a bad case of Trump Derangement Syndrome has burned $31 million backing Democrats this cycle
And we're not just talking about his Triple-XL shirts.
With just under $31 million out the door, LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman is the second-largest donor to Democrat campaigns and allied groups in the 2024 election cycle so far, according to new data from OpenSecrets, which analyzes federal race spending. That puts the Big Tech billionaire just behind long-time mega-donor and gun control advocate Michael Bloomberg, who’s dropped $41 million into leftist groups to defeat President Trump as of writing.
Restoration News profiled Hoffman and his advanced case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) in a December special report, identifying him as one of the Left’s newest benefactors (“the Soros of Silicon Valley”) whose political spending is matched only by the scale of his #MeToo hypocrisy.
That includes Hoffman’s $100,000 disinformation campaign, “Project Birmingham,” which used dozens of fake social media accounts to flip Alabama’s hotly contested 2016 U.S. Senate race to Democrat Doug Jones while blaming Russia for supposedly meddling in the race.
There’s also Hoffman’s mysterious trip to Jeffrey Epstein’s pervert island, which Elon Musk—who launched PayPal in 2000 with Hoffman as his chief operating officer—has said Hoffman is terrified Trump will release. “I think part of why Kamala’s getting so much support is that if Trump wins, that Epstein client list is gonna become public,” he told Tucker Carlson in a recent interview.
Election Meddling
So who’s receiving this Hoffman cash?
Hoffman was the largest donor to Buckeyes for Values, a PAC created to boost Never Trumper Phil Heimlich in the Ohio second congressional district’s March Republican primary. Had he won, it would’ve likely depressed GOP turnout and helped the Democrat win in November. Fortunately, Heimlich was crushed, netting just 4.9 percent of the vote.
He’s given another $10 million to Future Forward USA, the top spender of the entire cycle at $341 million for Harris.
He’s also given $1 million to American Bridge 21st Century, David Brock’s “gaffe database” for hounding Republicans to defeat on the campaign trail.
At $2 million, Hoffman is also the largest donor to Granite for America PAC, which poured most of that cash into boosting Joe Biden before his exit from the race in July. He’s given another $2 million to One for All Committee, which has poured $11 million into supporting Harris and a slew of embattled Senate Democrats such as Tammy Baldwin (WI), Bob Casey (PA), Ruben Gallego (AZ), Elissa Slotkin (MI), Jacky Rosen (NV), and Jon Tester (MT).
Hoffman is the top donor to the Republican Accountability PAC, run by the rabid Never Trumper Sarah Longwell. This writer has traced millions of dollars in “dark money” from the multi-billion-dollar Arabella Advisors network to a group associated with Longwell and ex-conservative Bill Kristol, Defending Democracy Together, or DDT. To date, the group has spent $18 million opposing Trump and $15 million backing Harris with funding from liberal mega-donors such as Kathryn Murdoch and top hedge funds.
And yet all the money in the world can’t help Kamala Harris connect with voters, who’ve seen her track record (and heard her cackle) and have had enough.
