Most Democratic Congressional District in US Rots While DSA Sweetheart Chris Rabb Parties in Brazil
Pennsylvania's Rabb is just the kind of person foreign countries tied to Cuba want infiltrating Congress.
.
If you made a list of current candidates who should be banned from holding a congressional seat, Pennsylvania state Rep. Christopher Rabb, a Democratic Socialist, would be at the top.
In a contested race, Rabb now seeks the open seat for Pennsylvania’s Third Congressional District (PA-03), one of the state's 17 up for election this midterm. He has far outspent Independent Dennis Mahoney. No Republican is running. This is the most Democratic district in the nation, listed as +40 Democratic in the Cook Partisan Voter Index. PA-03 covers the grimy heart of crime-ridden Philadelphia.
Career politician Rep. Dwight Evans (D) is retiring after suffering a stroke in 2024. Evans has held the seat since 2016 and leaves PA-03 pockmarked with a 16 percent poverty rate, 8 percent unemployment, a thriving illegal drug network, and blocks of boarded-up, burnt-out, abandoned hovels near where some of the most unfortunate children in America go to school.
Rabb doesn’t care about those Pennsylvania students; he cares about politics in Brazil.
He is so sure that he will win his bid for Congress that he took time off from campaigning in Philadelphia, traveled to Brazil, where he described himself as "an incoming member of Congress," and apparently acted as an election observer for Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) during the tumultuous presidential election. He acted more like a Lula fanboy in the videos he posted.
DSA member and prospective “Squad 2.0” congressman Chris Rabb is part of the election observation delegation in Brazil, where he’s filming videos celebrating Lula’s reelection and warning about American political interference. I'd like to see Rabb bring that same social media, man-on-the-ground energy to Philadelphia's biggest problem areas. Go stand in an open-air drug market, talk about the addiction crisis, and explain what he's actually doing to address it. And while we're at it, election observation delegations should be politically neutral, not de facto cheerleaders for one side. Rabb's videos celebrating Lula's victory certainly raise questions about his objectivity as an election observer.

It’s a serious problem. Rabb’s internationalist ideology erodes American sovereignty—it’s anti-American, anti-constitutional, and it renders Rabb ineligible to honestly take the congressional oath of office.
He will be lying if he says he plans to defend the Constitution and the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Rabb, who lived in Brazil in the 1990s, is the very enemy the oath urgently warns against.
Rabb has the markings of someone being groomed for intelligence work against the United States.
'Revolutionary Tourism'
In Brazil’s October 4 presidential election, Socialist Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Lula) received 45.16 percent of the votes. Challenger Flávio Bolsonaro received 47.03 percent. Ten other candidates split the remaining votes. Because no candidate received more than 50 percent, Brazil held a runoff election on October 25, triggering a DSA field trip.
Rabb was in Brazil, October 23–26, to "observe" the election in "solidarity" with "working class people." He traveled with Young DSA (YDSA) National Co-Chair James Hernández, a Cuban American activist with Communist-red dyed hair who looks like a woman and goes by "they."
YDSA National Co-Chair James Hernández and DSA Philadelphia Congressional Candidate @chrisrabb are observing the 2026 Brazilian elections, in solidarity alongside the working class people of Brazil fighting for Lula!! 🇧🇷🔥✊ https://t.co/5A3ddzFOwY

Here is James Hernández, the YDSA Co-Chair who also sits on DSA's National Political Committee. She is currently in Brazil as part of an "international delegation observing the Brazilian runoff election" and is overjoyed that the Supreme Court extended voting hours, even though "a lot of stations have already closed." These DSA delegations hardly seem like impartial election observers when the organization openly declares solidarity with the very political forces whose elections it is supposedly observing.

The Superior Electoral Court, or TSE, of Brazil released its results October 25, with Lula receiving 51.79 percent of the runoff votes, defeating Bolsonaro’s 48.21 percent. Bolsonaro and his family fled Brazil and flew to the United States. The election gives Lula his second consecutive term, his fourth term in total.
A recent State Department report mentions "revolutionary tourism," in which delegations of American leftists, often connected to the DSA, travel to Cuba, then act as intelligence assets or spies within the U.S. government.
"Cuban agents infiltrated the top levels of the State Department, the National Security Council, and the Pentagon, operating undercover for decades without detection," the report reads. It further states:
But the most successful and enduring sphere of Cuba’s campaign against America has taken place on the ideological battlefront. Since the 1960s, the regime has served as the beating heart of a new and distinct kind of Marxism, forged around an overriding resentment and fundamental hatred of the United States and the broader West. The Cubans devoted themselves to recruiting, cultivating, and mobilizing a global coalition of activists, intellectuals, and political groups around this cause, building a sprawling revolutionary network that shaped a disproportionate share of America’s most famous and influential extremist movements, from the Black Panthers and the Weather Underground through to Antifa. Today, that network continues to maintain ties to powerful leftist nonprofits, anti-ICE collectives, socialist groups, and Marxist militant organizations across the United States.
DSA is one of those groups, and Cuba’s reach is global. The report goes on.
From its earliest years in power, the Cuban regime has believed that its own survival and strategic interests were inextricably linked to the advance of the revolutionary left inside the United States. This conviction has been one of the animating principles of Cuban foreign policy through to the present day. But unlike most other hostile states, Cuba’s efforts to shape American politics are not solely driven by material geopolitical interests. The Cubans have always seen revolution in America as an end unto itself.
The Cuban connection is deeper than Rabb being a DSA member or that he travels with a Cuban activist.
Cuba and Brazil work together. They recently celebrated 40 years of "friendship and solidarity." Lula has criticized the U.S. economic embargo against Cuba and reaffirmed Brazil's support for ending the blockade at the United Nations. That sentiment was repeated at the U.N. this week. The Cuba/Brazil relationship is on the move.
The State Department report shows how foreign countries actively try to befriend people with the highest access to power in the United States, win their hearts, and get them working for the foreign country’s interests.
Election observing is a shrewd way to befriend Americans. It feels important and puts them in rooms with leaders of foreign countries where they can have off-the-record conversations, as unsanctioned representatives of the United States.
All it took in Brazil was a stroke of Rabb’s ego.
'People Want Me Here'
Viewers watching the video Rabb posted from inside Lula’s campaign headquarters will notice two things: his self-important facial expressions, and the mention that he is an "incoming member of Congress." Rabb throws around his anticipated congressional clout but has yet to win the election.
I don't know how I got in this room. I got people who want me, as an incoming member of Congress in the U.S., to be here to experience this moment with the Brazilian people. I think it's important for Brazilians. They wanted to see that there are Americans here who care about their faith, their democracy, [and] about what it means to be a good neighbor. So, I got in this room. There are literally hundreds of people trying to get into this room. And they're using everything they can to get in this room, but I have some good people with me who vouch for me, and I am literally in the inner sanctum here. …Lula will be coming, I imagine, to address Brazil and the world. I got not quite a front-row seat, but I got a damn good seat. This is truly amazing.
In an interview with the Payday Report, Rabb explained he was in the country to show Brazilians that "Americans are not happy with the oligarchs who are exporting their villainy across the globe." Rabb said, "It's even more important for elected officials from the U.S., particularly on the federal level, to show up to show that we are not complicit with the fascist regime that controls our federal government presently."
He warned voters that Brazil could become "the backyard of the Trump regime."
"This is one of the most populous nations in the hemisphere," Rabb said. "Is it going to descend into fascism like the United States, or are they going to make a decision that will allow them to bolster the democracy, improve the lives of working people, and help the entire region?"

This is not the first time the DSA has sent election watchers to other countries. DSA election observers were in Mexico in 2024.
By invitation of the Venezuelan government, DSA sent election observers to Venezuela in 2021 and 2024. They supported disgraced Socialist President Nicolás Maduro, who is currently in New York federal prison awaiting trial for narco-terrorism and politically motivated torture to retain his power.
A full description of Maduro’s alleged crimes can be read in the Department of Justice’s superseding indictment. It describes state-sanctioned rapes, murder, and mentions that Maduro facilitated the sale of landmines and other weapons manufactured in Cuba to terrorist groups.
DSA maintains solidarity with Maduro, which begs the question:, How far are socialists willing to go to be in political power?
As a DSA member with ties to Cuba and the highest levels in Brazil, it would be dangerous for the United States to place Rabb on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence or Committee on Foreign Affairs. Should he be trusted to oversee U.S. banking policy or have a voice in the Judiciary Committee?
What would Rabb do in Congress when his allegiance is to Brazil? It’s clear what he won’t do: make life better for Pennsylvanians in PA-03. Lucky for him, most of his impoverished voters are too busy struggling through the day to pay attention.
Rabb’s travel should be investigated. Voters should reject him. He should be banned from holding office.
