More Far-Left Dark Money Pours into Susan Crawford’s Campaign for WI Supreme Court

Far-left mega-donors are dumping millions of dollars into an effort to cement control over the state’s high court, enacting a sweeping agenda to tighten the grip of the teachers’ union over schools, raise taxes, and codify abortion.

Millions of dollars from California and Illinois Democrats are pouring into Susan Crawford’s campaign for Wisconsin’s open Supreme Court race on April 1, tying the liberal lawyer to some of the Left’s top mega-donors.

Karla Jurvetson is a major donor to Democratic candidates and PACs who sits on the board of EMILY’s List, a top D.C group that supports pro-abortion Democrat women running for office. Crawford previously represented Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider; she won’t say if she’ll recuse herself from a forthcoming Planned Parenthood case later this year.

Crawford also received money from Senate Minority Leader Dianne Hesselbein’s (D) campaign. Hesselbein, who represents parts of Dane County and Madison, is endorsed by EMILY’s List and Planned Parenthood, and backs extreme gun control and pro-abortion policies.

Disgraced ex-Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist (D) is another Crawford contributor. Norquist was accused of sexual harassment and racial discrimination as mayor, including a sordid extramarital affair leading to a staffer’s attempted suicide, which was settled out of court. Bizarrely, he even welcomed the Communist Party to hold its national convention in Milwaukee saying “we share many things in common” with the extremist group.

Another Crawford donor: Mary Lang Sollinger, a Madison activist and fundraiser closely involved in Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. Sollinger’s a major donor to the Wisconsin Democratic Party, which poured $2 million into Crawford’s campaign last month after receiving $1 million from George Soros and another $500,000 from Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

Restoration News has also traced $128,500 from labor unions that routinely back Democrats, including the Teamsters—the source of past RICO corruption charges by the Justice Department—American Federation of Teachers, SEIU, and LIUNA, which has lobbied heavily for illegal alien citizenship as well as Obamacare.

In total, close to 30% of Crawford’s contributions came from out-of-state donors—primarily in California, Illinois, New York, and Washington, D.C.

In late January, Restoration News reported on the radical “green” and dark money groups bankrolling Crawford’s campaign, as well as a donor with ties to a top Democrat fundraising group currently under federal investigation for alleged foreign money-laundering.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court election is on April 1, pitting Susan Crawford against former Attorney General Brad Schimel.
