Jeff Jackson & Kamala Harris Will Bring California Gun Confiscation to North Carolina

Over Rep. Jeff Jackson’s (D) career, he has proved that he is part of the anti-gun lobby. Based on his track record, North Carolinians may lose their right to bear arms if he is elected to the office of Attorney General.

When it comes to gutting the Second Amendment, there’s no daylight between Jeff Jackson and Kamala Harris.

Jackson, who is running for North Carolina Attorney General against pro-gun rights Republican nominee Dan Bishop, has a long history of supporting the most extreme forms of gun control. It’s earned him the endorsement of the gun control group Giffords—a group that advocates for California-style gun laws across the country.

In recent years, the Left has increased its desire to disarm Americans, and Jackson is ideologically aligned with the worst of them. In Congress, Jackson supported universal background checks, red flag laws, so-called “assault weapon” bans, magazine restrictions, and numerous other unconstitutional measures backed by Harris.

Like many on the Left, Jackson cites “gun violence” as the reason for increasing gun control as a way to dupe voters. In reality, it’s fearmongering meant to further governmental control and disarm law-abiding Americans.

In 2023, for instance, Jackson voted against a bill that would have allowed law enforcement officers to purchase their retired handguns from their agency. What’s the message here, that police officers cannot be trusted to safely handle firearms?

That’s likely, since Jackson backed the defund the police movement and is supported by Indivisible, a socialist group that calls for defunding police agencies nationwide. “Defund the police groups are lining up behind Jeff Jackson because they know he’ll support defunding the police if he’s elected to Congress,” said NRCC Spokeswoman Camille Gallo.

Second Amendment rights are enshrined in the Constitution and further upheld by multiple landmark Supreme Court rulings in Heller and Bruen—which guaranteed every American's right to carry a firearm. The Left’s ceaseless attacks only highlight their disdain for the Constitution and their distrust in law-abiding Americans. And Jeff Jackson is their champion.

A History of Anti-Gun Extremism

In 2021, Jackson supported universal background checks, red flag laws, and bump stock bans. “We've seen unacceptable, unconscionable acts of violence over and over again. And over and over again, our leaders fail to act. Not because of policy ignorance, but because of political fear of the NRA. If we want change, we have to change our leaders,” Jackson said.

Red flag laws, formally called Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs), are a policy which allows the government to take away your firearms without any reason and hold them for an unknown amount of time or indefinitely. They are one of the most insidious gun control policies pushed by the Left because they silently strip people of their constitutional rights in the name of “safety,” with little recourse in the courts.

Jackson’s support of universal background checks further highlights his extreme position on the Second Amendment. Universal background checks are criticized by Second Amendment advocates for being a backdoor method to creating a national gun database.

Nothing makes a quick, organized, and premeditated gun confiscation easier than knowing where to find every firearm in the country.

“Deceptively marketed to the public as a way to keep guns from dangerous people,” said the NRA Institute for Legal Action, “‘universal’ background check legislation is instead a broadside against lawful firearm ownership in America, setting cruel traps for common and innocent firearm-related conduct and banning an entire class of law-abiding adults from certain gun purchases.”

Throughout his career in politics, Jackson has continually supported far-left gun control measures that law abiding North Carolina residents do not want.

Supported by the Worst

Jackson is endorsed and supported by anti-gun group Giffords, which continually advocates for California-style gun control laws.

“Gun laws across the country are under attack from the gun lobby and its extremist enablers, and it’s more important than ever that we have strong gun safety champions defending our progress. Nobody will be stronger in this mission than Congressman Jeff Jackson,” Giffords said.

In 2022, Jackson attended an event hosted by Giffords “highlighting the importance of gun violence prevention this election cycle.” In 2024, Giffords PAC contributed $1,000 to Jackson’s campaign.

Jackson has also attended March for Our Lives events where he promoted “sensible gun reform.” In 2019, he joined a Moms Demand Action rally to promote gun control.

North Carolina residents do not need an anti-Second Amendment extremist as an attorney general. Jackson’s track record shows that he is in favor of confiscating firearms and his supporters are the worst of the anti-gun lobby.
