In Michigan, Bidenflation Has Cost Families $28,000 More Since Biden-Harris Took Office

Over 40 percent of Michigan residents are already either in poverty or struggling financially. Decreased purchasing power due to inflation— “progressive” policies at work—is now adding another layer of distress, and everyone is wondering how long they can hold on.

American households are struggling to make ends meet due to rampant inflation from “progressive” policies that make purchasing staple items seemingly impossible for many Americans—but Vice President Kamala Harris refuses to take responsibility.

Instead, she reassures Americans that she is from the “middle class” and has a plan. . . Unsurprisingly, Harris is hardly from the “middle class,” never held a position in the private sector, and has already had four years to implement a plan—but she hasn’t.

When Trump left office in Jan. 2021, inflation sat at a low of 1.4 percent. Fast forward to today, inflation has risen a cumulative 20.5 percent since 2021—all under President Joe Biden and Harris.

Failed economic policies have America in a chokehold, and every state is feeling a squeeze. In Michigan, households are now paying on average $1,032 more per month to purchase the same goods and services as they did nearly four years ago.

From 2021 to 2024, Michigan households have spent an estimated additional $27,681 for the same items they have always bought.

Michigan residents now spend an added $153 on food, $216 on mortgage and rent, $115 on energy, and $289 on transportation every month.

Too Many Michiganders In Poverty

Over 40 percent of Michigan residents, 1.7 million individuals, are either in poverty or struggling financially, according to a joint report between the Michigan Association of United Ways and United For ALICE, short for “Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.”

“These are individuals across our communities that are working sometimes two, three jobs,” said Natalie O’Hagan, senior director of strategy and culture for United Way of South Central Michigan. “They’re living paycheck to paycheck, so they’re under some pretty strong financial constraints.”

In a recent poll by Steve Cortes’s League of American Workers, 64 percent of Michigan residents reported they are worse off now than they were four years ago. In the same poll, Michigan residents reported that the top issues in the country are food prices (54 percent), inflation (54 percent), gas prices (26 percent), and paying bills (26 percent).

Harris and running mate Tim Walz will only further exacerbate the economic hardships Americans are feeling. Due to their green policies, desire to fund wars, and continued wish to grow the scope and authority of the federal government, it is safe to assume inflation will not cool if they are given the wheel.

After all, Harris has been driving four almost for years and Americans have had to pay the price.
