Hamas Supporter Funds Tammy Baldwin’s Reelection Campaign

A major donor to Baldwin’s campaign accuses Israel of genocide, praises Hamas, fights to keep America’s border invasion alive.

Restoration News has uncovered a major supporter of the campaign of U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) so extreme in his anti-Israel and anti-American views, it should concern every Wisconsin voter. Masood Akhtar, an anti-Israeli, Indian-born, American Muslim, has donated $6,600 to the Democratic incumbent since February 2020, campaign finance records show.

Akhtar, an open-borders activist, has made vile public statements about Israel in the wake of the Oct. 7 atrocities committed by Hamas. His hostility toward Israel is open and available for anyone to see. The Baldwin donor has accused Israel of committing genocide, even as the nation operates in its own self-defense. Akhtar even called for the rollback of President Trump’s Abraham Accord, which had established lasting peace in the Middle East. He supports the Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS) movement that foments boycotts of any businesses with any connection to Israel. He states Muslims can only achieve global peace and harmony by marshalling the “power of oil and money” controlled by the Muslim world, and uniting all Muslims “as a force, before it is too late.”

Baldwin’s Radical Donor Believes We Should Cancel the Abraham Accords

Akhtar is so extreme, he believes all oil producing nations must immediately cease exports to any nation supporting Israel, until they achieve the goals he lays out.

Wisconsinites should know that Baldwin’s radical benefactor has accused Israel of genocide while the Middle Eastern nation has been operating in self-defense against acts of terrorism. Masood laid out his views in a December 2023 op-ed where he not only maligned Israel,  but also called for the establishment of a Palestinian State and the termination of the Abraham Peace Treaty that the Israelis signed with the United Arab Emirates.

Here is some of what the Baldwin booster had to say in his op-ed:

What can you do to stop this genocide and build peace and harmony globally? Use the power of oil, and money, unite 25% of the world population of Muslims as one force, and act immediately before it’s too late. In the short term: Demand a permanent ceasefire immediately and the establishment of a Palestinian state governed by Palestinians and not by Israelis or Hamas. To accomplish this mission, immediately 1) end the Abraham Accords Peace Treaty signed between the United Arab Emirates and the state of Israel on August 13, 2020, 2) end oil exports to all foreign countries that are unilaterally supporting Israel; 3) boycott all products from businesses that are also unilaterally supporting Israel, 4) provide all humanitarian aid badly needed to save innocent lives-You do not need any money from any other country, and 4) ask Israel to pay for the construction of all the buildings that it had destroyed.

While Baldwin feigns support for Israel in her public comments, she has openly criticized  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—in a manner very much in line with Masood’s agenda. She he has also expressed support for legislation that would put on conditions on aid to Israel as a rejoinder to Netanyahu’s rejection of a two-state solution. It’s evident Baldwin is willing to put the Israeli people in jeopardy in exchange for campaign donations no matter how abhorrent the source.

Masood is so radical he’s gone so far as to accuse non-Muslim countries of creating the terrorist group Hamas—and Osama Bin Laden. Here is how he rationalized his position in the same December 2023 editorial:

Ask yourself a question: Who first created Hamas and Osama Bin Laden, for example, as their allies, and then designated them as terrorists?  One day, you could also be the victim of this long-term planning and strategic thinking by some non-Muslim countries if you are not careful who you are partnering with.

This veiled implication seems to accuse America of bearing responsibility for not only Hamas and its atrocities on Oct. 7, but also the terrorist attacks on our own soil on Sept. 11, 2001.

Anti-Israel and Anti-American

On her website, Baldwin has a throwaway line paying homage to the public’s growing appetite for border security. But once again the money trail flows back in the direction of someone very much out of step with mainstream views on the need for immigration reform. Masood is on record supporting “safe spaces” for illegal aliens. He has also served on the Dane County “Immigration and Refugee Task Force,” which is devoted to defying federal immigration laws. Although the task force is benignly described in the press as an entity working to “facilitate trust” between law enforcement and immigrant community, in reality it is designed to give cover to illegal aliens—many of whom are quite dangerous toward to the broader population.

The Heritage Foundation has a new report out detailing how illegal immigration fuels higher rates of crime with 2/3 of federal arrests involving noncitizens. That’s just part of the story.

As Restoration News has reported in its illegal alien crime database, multiple Wisconsin counties are home to sanctuary cities where criminal illegal aliens prey upon local residents. Voters need to ask themselves how many of their fellow Wisconsin residents would not have been victimized if Baldwin’s rhetoric matched her actions. Clearly, Masood views Baldwin as a worthwhile investment in the cause of open borders.

In the final weeks of the 2024 campaign, Baldwin’s hostility to law enforcement in Wisconsin and across the country deserve greater scrutiny as does her tap dance with long-time apologists for terrorism against Israel—and the United States.
