Democrats Who Decried Jan. 6 Now Defend Violence Against ICE

"Riots for me, not for thee."

The very same Democrats who spent years spewing lies about and hatred against the Jan. 6 protestors for alleged violence against Capitol police are now inciting rioters to assault federal immigration officers and mourning arrested illegal alien criminals.

Democrats have told many lies about the events of Jan. 6, 2021 we should never forget. But even without extensive context, the thorough hypocrisy and stark contrast of Democrats’ Jan. 6 comments and their current anti-ICE comments speak for themselves. Don’t take my word for it—see for yourself.

Kamala Harris was quite irrational in defending Capitol police after Jan. 6, comparing the protest on that 2021 date to 9/11 and the Japanese assault on Pearl Harbor. Apparently the deaths of two protestors by Capitol police is comparable to events that cost nearly 3,000 and 2,404 lives, respectively. Yet flash forward to this month when Harris—amid a 1,347% increase in assaults on ICE agents—falsely accused ICE of detaining a five-year-old child. In reality, the boy's illegal alien father abandoned him to flee federal officers while his mother refused to take custody, so officers took the boy to McDonald’s and played his favorite music until they could find out where to place him.

It was as ridiculous as President Joe Biden calling Donald Trump and the events of Jan. 6 a “genuine threat to democracy,” but denying the threat of wide-open borders, despite his policies allowing tens of thousands of terrorists and criminals to enter the USA.

Similarly, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was grossly hyperbolic when he labeled Jan. 6 “the day democracy was placed at greater risk than it has been in a century,” specifically mourning alleged assaults on Capitol police. That same respect for federal officers is notably lacking in Schumer’s new determination to induce a government shutdown over his reluctance to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

In some cases, Democrats kept up the propaganda for years after Jan. 6. As late as the 2024 vice presidential debate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz—Harris’ VP candidate—was gibbering that Jan. 6 was “the first time in American history that a president or anyone tried to overturn a fair election and the peaceful transfer of power.” Apparently he never learned about the Civil War, launched by Democrats furious about Republican abolitionist Abraham Lincoln’s election. Walz claimed that 140 Capitol police were beaten by protestors on Jan. 6, which even some leftist fact-checkers admit was an exaggeration—there were 140 reports of assault on Capitol police for Jan. 6, and some were subsequently challenged as exaggerations or falsehoods based on witness testimony and surveillance footage. There were also twice as many instances of Capitol police assaulting or threatening protestors as of protestors assaulting police.

Three Capitol police officers even actively campaigned for Harris and Walz in 2024, including Harry Dunn, who was exposed for lying about what happened to him on Jan. 6 via video released in 2024. Dunn claimed he had to engage in “hand-to-hand combat” with J6ers that resulted in fellow officers being taken away on stretchers, but hundreds of hours of evidence uncovered not a single indication of any such event—and Dunn certainly did lie about some details of his testimony. Yet in a complete reversal from his Jan. 6 rhetoric, on Jan. 25 of this year, Walz was deliberately riling up violent protestors against ICE in Minneapolis, sending out the National Guard to give goodies to rioters, and comparing ICE arrests of criminal illegal aliens to the Nazi Holocaust (yes, really). How different his language is now from what it was in 2024!

This same hypocrisy is evident around the country. Among the many Democrats running for governor in Wisconsin this year is former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, who in 2022 unsuccessfully but closely challenged Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) for his seat. Barnes made vilifying Jan. 6 protestors and exaggerating the danger of the Capitol protest a focus of his campaign and accusations against Johnson. “People tried to overthrow the Capitol, overthrow our government, stormed the seat of government because of Ron Johnson inciting that sort of violence,” Barnes hysterically accused after Johnson noted that police did not even seize guns from the Jan. 6 protestors. In contrast to his extreme terror of Jan. 6, Barnes is opposed to immigration enforcement and hopes to reward law-breaking foreigners as Wisconsin governor, declaring he would give illegal aliens driver’s licenses and in-state tuition.

Last January, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes (D) was virtuously incensed that Donald Trump pardoned the Jan. 6 protestors. “The violent attack on our nation’s Capitol on January 6, 2021, was not just an assault on the rule of law—it was an assault on the brave men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to protect us all,” she whined. Somehow, that concern for men and women in uniform is signally lacking in her attitude toward ICE. Mayes falsely asserted that because agents wear face masks to protect themselves from the constant doxxing therefore people can shoot to kill them. “[I]f you reasonably believe your life is in danger, and you’re in your house or your car or on your property … you can defend yourself with lethal force,” she harangued

Minnesota Senate candidate and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan (D) was inflamed against law enforcement and markedly lacking empathy for potential victims of police brutality when it came to Jan. 6. On the one-year and two-year anniversaries of the Capitol protest, she posted on X that the protest had been a “violent insurrection.” In 2022, she actually labeled the protest “terror,” and in 2022, she rambled about “hateful, racist, and divisive rhetoric.” Fast forward several years, and Flanagan is furious at federal law enforcement and oozing pity for an alleged victim of “brutality.” Earlier this month, leftist domestic terrorist Renee Good tried to interfere with an ICE operation in Minneapolis, which is a felony. As an ICE officer stood directly in front of her car, telling her to step out, Good gunned her car straight into the officer in a potentially deadly attack, causing him to shoot her in self-defense. The officer suffered serious internal bleeding, but Flanagan took the opportunity to inflame hatred against ICE, claiming federal officers are “hurting our people.”

Like Walz, Flanagan, and Mayes, California’s governor Gavin Newsom was far more hysterical about the Jan. 6 Capitol protest than he is about thousands of illegal alien criminals hiding from justice in his state. He labeled Jan. 6 “an outright assault to our democracy and Democratic institutions” and dithered, “The people of California have spoken, and our congressional delegation should never have to fear for their lives to represent Californians.” Despite his supposed reverence for our system of government, Newsom seems to reject the reality of national borders and is psychotic about ICE. In July 2025, ICE raided a pot farm and found illegal child laborers being exploited. Gov. Gavin Newsom reacted by vilifying ICE and mourning the raid. In December, Newsom refused to surrender an illegal alien who killed an 11-year-old California boy to ICE custody. Around the same time, he bragged that he had given illegal aliens free healthcare. As a matter of fact, Newsom has been so aggressive in enforcing sanctuary policies by interfering with ICE and protecting illegals that he has arguably broken multiple U.S. laws. It's astonishing that he was for “law and order” when it meant assaulting MAGA grandmas, but not when it means arresting child traffickers and murderers.

Gavin Newsom is a 2028 presidential hopeful, as is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). AOC, as the braindead bigmouth is often called, dramatically asserted that she feared for her life on Jan. 6, sobbing she was “nearly assassinated.” Ironically, it later transpired she was not in the main Capitol building during the protest. Contrasted to her apparent opinion that the Jan. 6 protestors would have murdered her had it not been for Capitol police, she is one of the most aggressive rhetoricians against ICE, fueling violent hatred that has led to a 1,347% increase in assaults on ICE. In fact, she gave illegal aliens tips to avoid ICE, which is almost certainly a violation of federal law.

Perhaps even more despicable is Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who in January 2021 labeled the Capitol protest an “insurrection” sprung from “hate.” He was far more blasé about the injury an ICE officer sustained in the line of duty. Indeed, Frey overlooked the near-deadly nature of Renee Good’s assault on an ICE officer (recall the officer suffered severe internal bleeding) and sneered the officer “walked away with a hip injury he might as well have gotten from closing a refrigerator door.”

Let’s look at some facts. The Epoch Times did a deep-dive on shocking police brutality on Jan. 6, such as Victoria White being beaten over the head with a metal baton 35 times, despite being unarmed; multiple protestors hospitalized after encountering Officer Dante Price and his baton; Roseanne Boyland, unarmed and peaceful, beaten to death by Capitol police; and Ashli Babbitt, shot to death after trying to intervene and stop violence. There were 293 Use of Force reports for Capitol police on Jan. 6, including chemical spray, less-lethal munitions, and aggressive pushing.

It is very important to note that the only people killed on Jan. 6 were protestors, murdered by police. There were no police killed by protestors. Furthermore, there were at least 274 federal agents embedded in the crowd on Jan. 6, according to the Trump-Patel FBI, so we know there was manipulation and entrapment.

Allow me to debunk another leftist lie. Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick did not die as a result of injuries sustained on Jan. 6, as a medical examiner’s ruling and surveillance footage released to Fox News confirmed. Sicknick died of a stroke he had after work on Jan. 6 and not tied to an injury, including any injury allegedly inflicted by protestors. Sicknick was not bashed in the head with a fire extinguisher in a deadly and deliberate assault. But Democrats made more of his death than they did of the deaths of dozens of Americans murdered by illegal aliens. In fact, Democrat authorities in California, Minnesota, and Fairfax County, Virginia, refused to release illegal alien murderers to ICE custody.

The examples are endless, but all of the above proves quite definitely that the Democrat Party is the anti-law and order party, and that its virulence about Jan. 6 sprang only from a desire to punish political opponents. Because when it comes to real terrorists, murderers, and destructive rioters, Democrats side with the criminals, every time.
