Declassified Documents Prove Election Integrity is More Vulnerable than We Thought

U.S. elections remain at risk until Congress acts.

In a July 16 prime time speech that several major television networks refused to broadcast, President Donald Trump announced he has declassified a trove of documents proving the nation's election system is badly compromised in multiple ways. The documents reveal how anyone with means, motive, and opportunity can fraudulently influence election results in most jurisdictions across America.

Electronic Voting

The CIA has known for years that bad actors can electronically manipulate vote totals or change election results remotely.

"Today, we are releasing documents that show the CIA obtained reporting of a specific plot by the [Nicolás] Maduro regime in Venezuela to do exactly that—conspiring to digitally rig their own country's elections in 2020," a report at Whitehouse.gov reads. "This reporting included precise details about methods the regime developed to digitally alter vote totals in ways that could not be detected even with an audit. This intelligence underscores why we must take urgent action to ensure that our own systems can never be hacked or compromised."

Electronic voting machines and ballot-counting systems in the U.S. remain vulnerable to attack by adversaries, including Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, as well as "non-state actors," as President Trump stated in his speech. Voter registration databases, pollbooks, and official election websites have the highest risk of exploitation.

China Has Your Number

China collected 220 million U.S. voter files over several years, starting during the 2020 election cycle. The voter files include everything needed to register to vote: name, address, phone number, political party, and other sensitive data.

In 2020, the U.S. had 158,481,688 votes for president; 168,308,000 registered voters; and 242,690,810 voting age people in the U.S.

It means nearly all voters—and millions of potential voters—had their data stolen by China at the same time China sought to influence the U.S. election.

"Members of the Deep State in our intelligence agencies worked to actively suppress and downplay information about the extent of China's sinister election meddling—covering it up from both the president and the American people," the report said. "U.S. spy agencies began learning about the compromise of voter registration files in 2020, when they discovered that tens of millions of voters' data in 18 states had been bought, stolen, or hacked by China. Yet those responsible for sounding the alarm instead kept the information hidden."

Voter Fraud Cover Up

In 2020, the FBI had evidence of fraud within a large-scale Democrat get-out-the-vote operation in Muskegon, Michigan. The declassified documents include numerous interviews with people involved. Some election canvassers told FBI interviewers that they "signed voter registration forms in other people's names, submitted fraudulent registrations for people who did not exist, and received gift cards tied to the number of applications they produced." The report reads. "The FBI agents working on the case believed that crimes were committed—yet the Biden Department of Justice slow-walked the investigation for years."

A Michigan FBI field agent wrote a letter in January 2022 to someone (both names redacted) at the Department of Justice's Criminal Division regarding the limited scope allowed in the investigation.

"It appears as though this type of fraud would result in a full field investigation," the agent wrote, and included six reasons why it seemed like continuing the investigation should move forward. "I wanted to raise my concerns before closing the case and was hoping to better understand the reasoning behind not approving a full investigation."

The Department of Homeland Security also combed through state voter rolls and public records from the states that cooperated with the Trump Administration. This process identified 278,000 non-citizens illegally registered to vote in federal elections. By law, you must be a U.S. citizen to vote in U.S. elections.

"Since Democrat states refused to share their voter files, the real number is actually much higher—yet even this limited analysis found more than a quarter of a million foreigners illegally registered to vote," the report said.

Never Again

From now on, anyone who claims 2020 had the most secure election in history can officially be called a liar. Too many fraudulent actions happened at once for anyone to continue pretending otherwise.

Millions of Americans have known this since the bogus results emerged the morning after the 2020 Trump-Biden race. Hundreds of thousands showed up at the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021— not to riot or commit a so-called "insurrection"— but to gather in significant numbers and demand lawmakers investigate before certifying the election. They had the right to gather, and they rightly questioned the election results. But the electoral coup had already gained a head of steam, crushing anyone who tried to stop it. Some Americans who went to the Capitol on Jan.6 died there. Some were jailed for the entire Biden administration. Anyone who doubted the election results got branded an election denier.

Americans started to worry about speaking freely, and only after Trump returned to office did the threat of a government adversarial to its own citizens recede—at least for now.

Since 2020, lawmakers—many of whom certified that dirty election—have failed to secure our electoral process.

Trump has begged Congress to pass the SAVE Act that will require proof of citizenship when registering to vote, and a valid photo ID to vote—a simple way to ensure only citizens vote. As President Trump said Thursday night, the only reason to oppose SAVE is if you need to cheat to win an election.

Communism is no longer knocking at the door. It has arrived. If we want to live like Venezuela, with leaders plotting to steal our elections and rule every aspect of our lives, we can just sit and watch as it unfolds.

But if we reject communist control over our lives, if we value our inalienable right to life and liberty—we must fight for it.

Start by telling your senators you demand the SAVE Act pass now, and stay in the fight, engaged and aware of the consequences of elections.
