BREAKING: FEMA Spent $2 Million Promoting Transgender and DEI Agendas

Woke FEMA puts transgender and DEI agendas above saving the lives of Appalachian Americans.

The Harris-Biden FEMA is spending your taxpayer dollars to promote their woke agenda, instead of saving lives of Americans after natural disasters. In the last 2 years, FEMA spent nearly $2 million on a sole source contract with Montage Marketing Group to promote extremist LGBTQ and DEI agendas.

Yet Homeland Security Mayorkas claims FEMA doesn’t have enough disaster relief funds to help struggling North Carolinians who’ve lost everything.

Montage was hired to implement FEMA’s “Inclusive Diversity Council” and work with FEMA’s “employee resource groups” (ERGs) that focus on leftist social agendas, including an LGBT advocacy group simply called “Pride.” Montage was tasked with promoting the “Transgender Day of Remembrance” through graphic design and video production.

The organization responsible for protecting Americans during natural disasters focuses on employees talking about sexuality and gender identity at work. Maybe that’s the reason they are having trouble recruiting employees.

In FEMA’s June 2024 planning documents, they emphasized the importance of participating in events during Pride month, Transgender Visibility Day, Coming Out Day, and Transgender Day of Remembrance.

In a FEMA equity webinar, the head of FEMA’s Pride ERG and director of education and training, Reilly Hirst, warns that faith-based groups offering services in a disaster may discriminate against transgender people by “misgendering” them.



White People Need Not Apply—Or Expect Help

FEMA’s strategic plan for 2022–26 lists its top priority as instilling “equity as a foundation of emergency management.” The agency claims “specific identity groups” suffer disproportionately from disasters. FEMA defines these identity groups as: Black, Latino, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islanders, and LGBTQ+ people.

Is that why white Americans in Appalachia are being forgotten amidst the disaster from Hurricane Helene?

Another FEMA top priority is making sure they don’t have too many white people working in the agency, stating that diversity, equity, and inclusion is not optional. The FEMA director told Congress in 2023 the agency was adapting its recruiting efforts to hire “minorities.” The Government Accountability Office (GAO) reports that FEMA has been unable to meet its annual staffing targets. Is it because they are turning away straight white candidates who don’t meet their standards of diversity?

FEMA’s Bizarre Employee Training

FEMA has a “diversity awareness” course for all employees that instructs that effective interactions require one to “understand your preconceived notions and attitudes toward differences. Accept that there are multiple ways to reach the same goal and to live life.” 

FEMA is dictating to its employees what they must believe and accept as truth. The course further instructs: “Learn about differences. Participate in awareness events.” The awareness events pushed by FEMA are LGBT pride and transgender awareness activities.

The FEMA employee course further instructs that when an employee crosses their legs, their feet or shoes should not be pointed toward anyone because in some cultures feet are considered unclean.

Similarly, FEMA employees are warned not to give a thumbs-up sign because in some places it could be considered an obscene gesture. Perhaps FEMA forgot that their mission is in America and funded by Americans.

FEMA further dictates to their employees that bathroom use must be based on a person’s self-identified sex, not biological sex, and employees must not misgender or fail to use a person’s preferred pronouns.

It is clear why FEMA is incompetent and doesn’t have the human or financial resources to complete their sole mission of providing disaster response relief. FEMA’s eyes are no longer focused on their job but on the Harris-Biden woke agenda. What sane American would want to work for FEMA? The hard-working men and women of Appalachia will survive, and other great Americans will come to their rescue. Certainly Florida has proven they can manage without the federal government.

Maybe it’s time to defund FEMA.
