Biden-Harris Immigration Policies Allow Enough Fentanyl into the U.S. to Genocide Americans

Democrats create magnets for smugglers, which hinder Customs and Border Protection (CBP) from stopping the lethal flow of fentanyl

High levels of illegal immigration under the Biden-Harris administration overwhelm CBP, allowing a potentially genocidal amount of fentanyl to enter the U.S. every month.

In 2023, nearly 75,000 Americans died from fentanyl overdoses. The CDC identifies it as the leading driver of drug overdose deaths in the country. But the fatalities alone don’t tell the whole story. The drug has also prevented millions who haven’t yet died from it from leading normal lives.

Opioid addiction diminishes labor participation and family formation among prime-age Americans. Millions who have given up on become productive citizens owe their social dysfunction to fentanyl. 

From May 2024-October 2024, the CBP seized enough of the drug to kill the entire U.S. population twice and still have leftovers. In August alone, it seized over a ton of it, enough to kill nearly a quarter of a billion people.

Biden and Harris Have Lost All Control

Lest anyone breathe a sigh of relief that CBP is on top of things, a September report from the House Homeland Security (HHS) Committee found that under the Biden-Harris administration, CBP has recorded roughly 2 million gotaways—illegal border crossers whom agents lacked the resources to apprehend. The report’s findings reveal an average 5-1 ratio for illegal alien encounters to gotaways.

If the average ratio of gotaways to encounters matched the ratio of fentanyl smuggled passed CBP to fentanyl seized, it would still mean that enough fentanyl enters the U.S. market every month to kill tens of millions of Americans.

But making that extrapolation would be too generous to the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Most encounters don’t involve agents chasing down illegal aliens and hauling them handcuffed in paddy wagons across the desert. Most migrants surrender to the CBP as soon as they cross the border, knowing that under Biden-Harris they can scam the U.S. asylum system; and almost none of the fentanyl that CBP seizes comes from asylum seekers since they know they will be searched when processed.

Higher numbers of asylum seekers drain CBP resources, preventing agents from apprehending those seeking to evade. CBP’s records show that the more encounters it has, the higher the ratio of gotaways. For instance, in FY22, it recorded 2,766,582 encounters compared with 737,244 gotaways—a ratio of 3.75-1, rather than the 5-1 Biden-Harris administration average. In August 2024, for instance, the CBP seized nearly double the amount of fentanyl that it did in May when encounters were almost twice as high.

Finally, gotaways include only illegal aliens that CBP notices but can’t do anything about, not the countless border crosses who evade the agency’s detection and bring as much fentanyl as they please.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris created this mess

Rather than reduce the volume of illegal immigration—which lets CBP focus on catching non-asylum seekers and seizing the fentanyl they smuggle—Democrats create magnets for low-wage foreigners through public services and welfare.

The incumbent administration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris supplement this by funneling millions of taxpayer dollars to leftist, open-border nonprofits. The nonprofits recruit immigrants in their home countries, help them along the journey, and get them settled once they arrive. The HHS Committee report notes that many nonprofits even provide benefits to known gotaways.

This liberal immigration policy creates a vicious cycle that harms the country but benefits much of the Democratic Party’s constituency.

As more illicit drugs flood the U.S. market, more Americans—predominantly workers whom the illegal aliens will replace—become drug addicts and drop out of the workforce voluntarily. This creates space for the immigrants to become the new working class who will tie their gratitude for America’s economic blessings to the party that let them in and gave them a hand up.

This situation also creates new honeypots for bureaucrats and social workers—two reliably Democratic voting blocs.

As more Americans demand the government fix the border, Harris proposes hiring additional bureaucrats to process more immigrants faster.

Meanwhile, as more Americans suffer from drug addiction, mental illness, and despair from the loss of good-paying jobs and low-wage competition, the Biden-Harris solution consists of subsidizing mental health professionals and social workers with hundreds of millions of taxpayers’ dollars to treat the victims of their immigration policy.

This subsidization of occupations that consist almost entirely of Democrats also provides an opportunity to reeducate them out of “problematic” views or resentment they may feel toward their country’s institutions that cast them aside.

“Progressive” Goals and Human Wreckage

Democrats’ goal of increasing diversity and maintaining cheap labor led to enough fentanyl entering the country every year to kill everyone in it. In addition to the tens of thousands it does kill yearly, it also keeps millions from reaching their full potential as productive citizens. This cycle reinforces the belief that Americans don’t want to work or have kids and that only increased immigration can keep the country productive. As a side bonus, it creates high-paying jobs for key Democratic constituencies on the public dole to deal with the fallout from the party’s immigration policies.
