Arizonans Suffer as Democrats Give Safe Harbor to Criminal Aliens
Thousands of victims of illegal alien criminals disagree with failed border czar Kamala Harris—the border is NOT secure
Democrats in Maricopa County, Arizona, refer to criminal illegal aliens as “guests”—providing a safe harbor for pedophiles and murderers. Likewise in 2022, border “czar” Kamala Harris declared the “border is secure.”
In fact, Arizona voters completely disagree with Vice President Harris. In a recent poll by Steve Cortes’ League of American Workers, Arizonans overwhelmingly agreed that the Biden-Harris administration has spent too much time on social issues such as transgender rights and abortion but not enough time on solving the illegal immigration crisis.
Families of Laken Riley and Rachel Morin—young women who were viciously murdered by illegal aliens Biden and Harris helped into the country—also disagree with our failed border czar.
In 2017, when Democrat Sheriff Paul Penzone took over in Maricopa County, which encompasses Phoenix, he referred to illegal aliens as “guests” and released hundreds of criminal illegal aliens, including violent offenders back to the streets.
Maricopa County is the 4th-most populous county in the United States with 4.5 million people. Penzone stepped down in Feb. 2024 but his appointed replacement, Russ Skinner, continues to hide illegal alien criminals from Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers.
While every state has become a border state thanks to the Biden-Harris administration, Arizona is on the front lines of the invasion. The Arizona sector is the busiest sector for border patrol illegal alien apprehensions, and large numbers of illegal aliens cross the border undetected every day.

Suppressing the Truth
In our research for the illegal alien crime map at IllegalAlienCrimes.com, we struggle to find information on illegal alien criminals in Arizona—specifically Maricopa County. The state of Georgia reports a much higher number of illegal alien criminals than Arizona. Is it because illegal aliens are committing more crimes in Georgia than Arizona? No—it’s because sanctuary counties like Maricopa are hiding criminal illegal alien “guests” who then move to interior states to wreak havoc.
Restoration News recently requested all records associated with illegal alien criminal arrests in Maricopa County. The response was astounding and alarming. The public information officer for the Maricopa County sheriff’s office (MCSO), Sgt. Calbert Gillett, told Restoration News:
MCSO is prohibited from and does not engage in immigration enforcement to include checking the immigration status of individuals. MCSO also does not do immigration holds for inmates within our custody.
That’s undeniable proof that Maricopa County is harboring illegal alien criminals. This has been happening since Sheriff Paul Penzone (D) was elected in 2017.
The Justice Department recently released a biased and baseless report against the Phoenix police accusing them of discrimination. Much of the report was focused on the homeless population, or as Democrats refer to them— “unhoused” people. Yet not once was the illegal invasion of the border mentioned in the report—further indication the Biden-Harris administration doesn’t care about the Americans falling victim to illegal alien predators.
Arizona Republicans in the state legislature passed a bill that would have allowed state and local police to arrest illegal aliens but Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs killed the legislation with her veto pen. Hobbs falls in line with the Biden-Harris open border narrative that endangers Americans across the nation.
Threatening National Security
In May 2023, authorities in Ecuador issued a warrant for a man wanted on charges of raping a minor after the man fled Ecuador to avoid going to prison. He crossed the border in Arizona and was released into the interior of the United States after being issued a “notice to appear” before an immigration judge at a future date.
Of course, the Ecuadorian fugitive didn’t stick around for his immigration hearing, he fled to Massachusetts, where ICE’s Boston agents tracked him down in June 2024. ICE said he “posed a significant threat to the children of our communities.”
A man from Uzbekistan with ties to ISIS was arrested by ICE in Baltimore in April 2024. They discovered that he crossed the border in Arizona in February 2022 and was released inside the United States on bond.
ICE isn’t to blame for the illegal aliens being set free. It’s the Biden-Harris open border policies and sanctuary sheriffs that let these criminals roam free into the backyards of every American. Fortunately, there are many local sheriffs across the nation who are placing immigration detainers on these monsters when they are found—but not in Maricopa County.
Maricopa citizens will have a chance to elect a new sheriff this year. Primary races will be decided on July 30 with the general election on November. The decision made by voters in Maricopa County could impact the rest of the nation. Will they decide to elect a sheriff who will allow illegal alien criminals to be set free to terrorize interior states or will they elect someone who will protect America from the illegal alien Bidenvasion.
